Tiffany’s POV
Matty was taking awhile to get the car, so we left the front of the restaurant to find him.
From the distance, I could see a figure lying on the ground, surrounded by a pool of something. I felt my heart drop.
I covered Garrett’s eyes and picked him up to run over.
“Please don’t be Matty. Please don’t be Matty.” I repeated over and over.
When I came upon the body I dropped to my knees with Garrett in my arms and wailed.
“Why, God! Why?!” I screamed into the night air.
People heard me making a commotion and started to crowd around to see what happened.
“Call 911!” I heard someone shout.
“Miss…Miss…stand up.” Someone shook my shoulders, but my legs were too heavy to move. I knew in my heart that he was gone, and he wasn’t coming back this time.
