Beasts lover

After 12 years

Warm... really warm that's the first thing came to his mind. He try to snuggle close to the warmth more but find it really difficult to do. That's when he registered the weight on his body. He quickly open his eyes only to see the bodies that covers in different colour furs. He let out a groan and checked the time. It was 6.45am. He needs to get up now or he is going to be late to his classes again. He knew trying to wake up these fur bolls is really difficult. So he looked at the tree with wines in room and focused on his magic. The wines slowly moved and rapped around the beasts that sleep on him. They slowly lifted them. The moment the lifted on him he slowly escape from his bed and slowly put the beasts on his bed again. This was like his daily task.

He was a student of faculty of nature magic. Before coming here he never used his magic. But after he start to learn at the academy he figured out his magic was more connected to the animal than the other elements in nature. Beasts who reside in the academy quickly taken likely to him. Even the high level beasts who really wild were acted as puppies in front of him. Wherever he was few beasts were there. Even to his classes they followed him. After few complains from his room mates faculty decided to give him a room so he can share it with his beasts.

He quickly got ready and hurriedly walk to the dining room for breakfast. To day is the last class of his academic years. He will be graduating next week. This academy didn't hold exam at the end of the year. Instead of that they give tests and missions to complete through the year. Their grade will depends on them.  After the breakfast Thomas hurriedly went to the class.

"Good morning children, please sit everyone  "

Mrs Calton the teacher of the animal studies said.

"You have already learned everything this academy can offer you. Now its time for the higher studies or you can choose which ever path you like. "

" for the students  who want to study more there will be a test to measure your knowledge and if you pass then you can earn a scholarship. There are few universities already sent their representatives to the academy. Please be ready and come to the hall under the willow tree. Around 10"

" so since this is yours last day you can do whatever you want. If you have any questions please ask ."

After few round of questions Mrs. Calton dismissed the class.

" Ah Thomas could you stay for a moment?"

"Yes Mrs Calton "

"Head master Thunderwood said he wants to meet you"

"Oh did i do something wrong Mrs Calton "

"he didn't say a reason. I will take you to his office and you can ask yourself. Why don't you follow me"

Mrs Calton gently knocked on the door of the head master's office.

"Please come in"

A gentle yet steady voice reply. For Thomas this in not a unfamiliar place. Because of his struggle with beasts he had to come often to meet head master. But this time he was really not sure about the reason. They entered to the room. It was a big room filled with books, and other magical items. Middle of the room was a table. Behind it head master Thunderwood was sitting. There was a man in green robs in front of the table sitting. When Thomas and Mrs Calton entered the room the man in green robs turned around. His eyes were the first thing he noticed. They were   green just like his robs. And Thomas feel that those eyes were looking at his soul.

"Thank you Mrs Calton for taking Thomas here"

"Its all right head master. Then I'll take my leave first"

After Mrs.Calton leave, head master turned to look at Thomas.

"Thomas this is the Guardian of the nature magic"

Thomas was really shocked. He never thought that he will ever meet a guardians of magic.

" you have a great talent in taming even the wildest beasts. So I thought it would be good if i inform the guardians about you. Because of that guardian of the nature magic came him self here to see you. To test your talent he will take you on a mission. If you pass the test you will be given a chance to learn under the guardian him self. Even If you fail you can continue your studies, guardian promised to give you the chance to that."

Even after head master said all those things the guardian never utter a single word. He  was starting  at Thomas. He feel really awkward at the moment but there was this feeling that he could not pin point like he finally found his family. first time in his life Thomas  feel really safe.

" if you are ready then lets start the mission"

A melodically voice said. It was the fist  time the guardian spoke.

"Do not worry about the other things, after the mission complete you can come back to the academy."

Instead of answering Thomas silently nod

The guardian then slowly walk towards Thomas

"Give me your hand"

Thomas slowly put his hand on the guardian hand. It felt really soft and warm yet he felt the strength behind those fingers

"Now close your eyes"

Thomas closed his eyes. Then he felt that the pressure of the air around him changing. After couple of seconds the guardian asked him to open the eyes. When he opened his eyed first thing he noticed was the grand castle sitting in front of him. Then he slowly looked around him. They were standing in a middle of a big grass field. There were few people gathered around some thing few meters away from him. He wanted to ask about the mission from the guardian but before that he heard a small but painful whine. He froze and try to find where it came from. It didn't take times to understand that the whine came from the place where people gathered. Without thinking anything he ran. The sight he was seeing really break his heart. There was a black dragon, binded by ropes and people gathered around him trying to harm him using there magic.

"Stop"

"What do you think your are doing"

The sudden voice startle everyone. They stop to looked at the voice. Seeing Thomas one  guy snickers

" Don't you see these thing here, a wild beast  if we let it go it will destroy our people."

" how could you say that so sure, it didn't do anything yet, right? Then why are you harming it?"

" that what they are... beasts... do not have right to live"

It ignite the anger in Thomas heart. He start to chant and then the earth below where they stand star to shake and suddenly tree roots start to grow. They rapped around the humans, even they struggle no one was able to escaped.

Thomad ran to beast side and quickly removed the ropes. The beast sniff him and then start to rub his face on Thomas chest .

"It is okay now, I'm here baby, no one goings to hurt you any more"

Thomas used his magic to heal the animal and start to rub his head. Then suddenly the animal stiffed and Thomas lift his head to look around him. He saw the guardian. A gentle smile on his face.

"Every thing head master said was true. Beast loves you. Its a rare gift.. "

" I'm sorry guardian I forgot about the mission "

"Its okay. You pass the test"
