She was finally here. She was secure. The primary objective of locating her was successfully completed. Yet she was a relentless presence in my mind. I kept replaying the sight of the split skin on her lip and the angry bruises marring her arm. I burned with a potent need to find the perpetrators and utterly destroy them for laying hands on my mate. The idea that she was alone injured and judging by the scene at her old pack terrified made me livid. However she managed to extinguish any flicker of compassion when she asked about other women.
