Eva tossed on the bed, clutching the blanket slightly as fragments of memories replayed in her mind. Thunder cracked. The rain soaked through her clothes. Then- A sharp slap. And a baby crying. "You should leave, you are not fit to run the company...," a man had told her as she knelt in the rain. The cry of the baby went up louder as she tossed left to right. "Evan...," she whispered, tears slipping down her face. The door creaked open, and the light flicked on. "Eva," someone called out to her waking her up. She gasped for air as she woke up staring at Evelyn's face. "Where is Evan?" Eva asked immediately she woke up. "He already fell asleep, he is in my room...don't worry, he is fine," Evelyn replied and Eva face-palm herself. "Are you okay, Eva?" Evelyn asked. Eva looked up to her as she wiped her tears. "Yeah, I am, you don't want to wake Evan up," Eva replied. "You can go be with him, he may wake up if I try to bring him here," Evelyn told her and Eva got out of the bed. "Yeah, thanks so much, Evelyn." "Anytime Eva." Eva prepared to walk out of the room but Evelyn's voice stopped her. "No one would take him away from you, you have done a good job in hiding it and it's not going to get exposed soon." Eva smiled and finally walked out. Evelyn looked at her retreating figure and smiled sadly. - Brian sat in a bar as he drank. Someone finally tapped him and he turned around to look at James. "What's up, buddy?" James asked as he sat beside also getting a glass. "Learnt you got the contract of Director Hudson, congratulations buddy," James said again and Brian turned to look at him and smiled, the smile not reaching his eyes. "So tell me, what's the story line all about, who is the lead actress too...you can tell me that much right?" James said and Brian looked at him. "What's wrong with you? You have always wished to work with director Hudson, his movies are always hit, who do you look so gloomy now?" "I am happy... really happy," Brian said already sounding drunk. "You know, you should not drink, you are not very good at holding your liquor," James told him pouring a glass for himself. "Why are you out tonight, what of your wife, you both good now?" "Yeah, we are...Sandra can be a bit of a hassle sometimes...and can you worry about yourself for once." "Lucky you, no matter how much you both fight, you still get back to each other." "Wait a minute," James said snatching the glass of drink from him. "Is this about Eva?" Brian collected the glass from him and drank the full glass. "It's not about her, already forgot about her completely." "Then, why are you drinking when you just got your long time wish of acting with director Hudson?" "I am celebrating," Brian muttered. "Isn't that what this looks like?" "Hey, Brian, tell me what's wrong?" James asked him dropping his own glass snatching Brian's own from him completely. Brian turned to look at him, his eyes brimming with tears. "Why did she do that?" Brian asked the tears slipping. "Do what?" "Two years... she just gave me the papers and left me in the rain.. was it because I didn't have money like she does? Or because I'm not popular? Was I not her type...did she not love me...why...why did she do that to me?" He asked, the tears strolling down his cheeks. James looked at him, pity filling his eyes. "But, it was my fault, I shouldn't have tried to divorce her first, I shouldn't have tried to leave her first...she was also having it hard...I know...I could feel it," he said again and James patted him slowly. "Come on, we should get you home," James told him trying to help him up. "You said... what if that child was mine..." Brian let out a hollow laugh. "It's not." James frowned. "How do you know?" Brian's grip tightened on the glass. "Because we never slept together." Brian's eyes brimmed with tears as he turned to look at him. James's eyes also getting cloudy but he turned his away from him. Brian's hand shook as he refilled the glass, ignoring the bitter taste that burned his throat. "I have lost her forever...I can't get her back again, she is gone. So just let me drink and forget all about her," he said drinking the full glass. "Brian, can you just stop, you can never be sure of anything yet," James told him snatching the glass from him. The drink spilled all over his suit. "Come on, you are stained now, let me get you home...is your driver here?" James asked but Brian just belched and continued crying. "Oh my darling Eva," he kept on saying as he cried. "Such a crybaby," James said as he hit him at his back. "If you really loved her, you won't have divorced her, you fool," James said pulling him up. "Put everything on my tab," he later told the man behind the bar as he pulled Brian up. "Come on, let's get you home." James pulled him as he dragged him out of the bar. - The door to Brian's apartment unlocked and someone stepped in, her red heels only visible due to the dim light. The woman walked up to Brian who laid sprawled on the couch of his living room. She dropped her red bag on the table in front of the couch as she stared at Brian whose eyes are shut close as he still laid on the couch. She kept staring at him, her arms folded across her chest. Brian's eyes opened for a moment but is shut back.
