For those who are asking about my age, I'll be turning 17 this December, so I'm currently 16. To be honest, nobody really knows much about me, not even my parents. They're always busy with work, so they might not notice things about me. I don't have many friends, and I don't really show who I am. But it's okay, I'm happy with my life like this..
In recent days, I can see the sadness and longing in Daddy's eyes. Even when spoken to, he can't bring himself to open up. Mommy is extremely worried about him because he hasn't eaten almost the entire day.
It's only been a month since Grandpa passed away, but despite that, Daddy still tries to get up for Mommy and me.
A few weeks passed, and it was exactly our vacation time, so Daddy decided that I would go with Grandma to the province since she was heading there too. I'll be spending my vacation with her while Mommy and Daddy take care of some business.
They're leaving me with Grandma and heading to Taiwan to settle Grandpa's business there, so I'll be staying behind. I won't be able to contribute much to Mommy and Daddy, so I might as well go with Grandma. Of course, as their only child, they gave me an allowance for the vacation.
The trip with Grandma was quick, and we arrived at the port. We took a boat, of course – we can't fly, haha! Just kidding, don't get annoyed..
We traveled with Grandma to the bus terminal. Her house is far from town, surrounded by rice fields, mountains, and forests. We arrived there with Mommy when I was in Grade 5, but I was still young.
I remember my playmates there, James, Renz, Nikko, and Bren – all boys, haha. I learned games like tumbang preso, tagu-taguan, sipa, and basketball. But basketball wasn't really my thing, even though they taught me – it was just too hard for me.
When we got off the bus, I thought that was the end of our trip, but it wasn't. The journey was so long that I fell asleep last time we came here. This time, we took a tricycle, and I asked Grandma,
"Grandma, is it still far? I don't remember the place."
"Just wait, Apo, we'll be there in 15 minutes." she replied,
"Grandma, it's almost half a day of travel, isn't it?" I said
"Are you tired from sitting?" she said
"Of course, I'm tired, and it's hot." I joked
After a few minutes, we finally arrived. I carried my bags and Grandma's things into her house. Nothing has changed here – it's still beautiful, peaceful, and quiet. There aren't many people gossiping around, unlike in other places. It's great to be here with Grandma – no gossip, haha!.
