Chapter 2Nerein reappeared the following day at roughly the same time. Peter had decided that might as well be luncheon, and had brought food over to the rock. He hadn’t entirely expected another visit, but the stone held him up nicely and he could look out over the building site and the people scurrying round it. He tried not to track Jeremiah too much. He’d had varying success at that, these past weeks. Today seemed easier somehow. He kept glancing over at the deep pool of ocean instead. The newer buildings and older-structure polishing and trimming-up were all coming along quickly, with good solid Northern Isles craftsmanship.
