Prologue The office was quiet except for the sound of Jameson Grant's pen scratching across the paper. He was hunched over his desk, poring over the numbers on the balance sheet. It was past midnight, and he had been working for hours. But he couldn't stop. There was always more to do, more to achieve. Jameson had built his empire from the ground up. He had started with nothing but a dream and a drive to succeed. And now, he was one of the most powerful men in the world. He had more money, more influence, and more control than he had ever imagined. But there was a cost to his success. He had sacrificed his relationships, his values, and his own sense of morality. He had become obsessed with power and control, and he would stop at nothing to maintain his position at the top. As he looked out the window at the glittering city below, Jameson couldn't help but feel a sense of emptiness. He had everything he could ever want, and yet he was still searching for something more. Something that would give his life meaning. That was when he met Olivia Price. She was a young journalist, hungry for the truth. She saw through his facade of power and wealth and challenged him in ways he had never experienced before. At first, Jameson saw Olivia as a threat to his empire. But as he got to know her, he realized that she was the one thing he had been missing. She was the only person who could see the good in him, who could make him feel alive again. But his obsession with power and control was not so easily overcome. As Jameson's feelings for Olivia grew, so did his need to possess her. He would do anything to keep her by his side, even if it meant sacrificing his own humanity. Little did he know, his obsession with Olivia would lead him down a dangerous path, one that would threaten to destroy everything he had worked so hard to achieve.
