A gentle shake pulls me out of my sleep and blink my eyes in confusion. I look at the open space and remember I am on the terrace. I sit straight and turn to Kai, who is smiling in amusement. “I fell asleep?” I ask in embarrassment. He nods. “Yeah. I’m sure it made you feel a lot better.” I smile. “Yeah, everything has.” He pulls himself up and extends his hand to me. “Lunch time is about to end. I think we should go down before anyone comes to the hallways.” I nod taking his hand and he pulls me up. We both step back inside the building and he locks the door. We silently start descending the stairs and reach our floor. Kai and I smile at each other when we are just a few classes away from our next one, feeling accomplished.
