A Bouquet from Neskuchny Gardens The first thing I saw on coming to, after the stupefying but painkilling injections I had been stuffed with in resuscitation, was a luxuriant bouquet of leaves. What a miscellany of hues there were – crimson and reddish-purple, orange and rich yellow, and also green, only lightly touched by the flame of autumn – well, just unrivalled beauty! This wondrous gift was presented to me by Mary, breaking the silence of the ward with her little sing-song silver voice: “Come to?
