Tribal chieftain

As the sunset faded and night descended, the starry river blazed with brilliance. Jian You and his three companions returned to High Barbarian Mountain, carrying the remaining three forest wolf corpses. By now, campfires blazed on the mountain cliff, with a plump thick-skinned wild boar being roasted on the spit. The bird-people circled around the campfire, gazing at the roasting wild boar with anticipation written across their faces. Some of the bird-people's children were already drooling, their mouths watering uncontrollably. The thick-skinned wild boar was the most succulent prey in the Whisper Forest, and even for Jian You and his group, such a catch was rare. This time, their encounter with three wolves hunting the wild boar had been a stroke of unexpected luck. When the roasting was complete, Jian You received the most delectable piece of wild boar meat. After all the bird-people had eaten their fill, an elderly bird-person with gray-white wings, hunched and trembling, stood up and walked to the campfire, addressing everyone. "Fellow tribespeople, it has been three years since our Clan Leader Yi led all our strong young men to the Vast Sea Forest to join the war initiated by the Thunder Titan." "They have not returned, and surely they have long been buried in the yellow sands!" "You all know this, don't you?" The old bird-person's words were like ripping open an old wound, causing the tribe members to lower their heads. Soon, Jian You heard soft weeping around him. The bird-people warriors were too weak. Beyond their flying ability, they were utterly useless. On such a massive battlefield, they were like cannon fodder, dying en masse with the slightest touch from stronger forces. "Fortunately, after three years, some of our children have grown. They can now help their mothers hunt. Especially You, who can even independently kill forest wolves." The old bird-person continued. Jian You had single-handedly killed a lone wolf six months ago. "Every wolf pack has an alpha, and our tribe cannot be without a leader." "I propose that Jian You inherit Yi's position and become the leader of our High Barbarian Mountain tribe!" The old bird-person finally revealed his purpose. He was too old, and the tribe lacked successors. Only Jian You could become the clan leader, even if he was still a young bird-person, for he was no less capable than the adults. The young bird-people of similar age to Jian You were the first to approve. They had grown up with him and were long impressed by his abilities. With the young ones' support, their mothers naturally wouldn't object. Almost half the tribe supported Jian You becoming the new leader. Moreover, even those who remained silent offered no opposition. And so, the matter was settled! The old bird-person smiled comfortingly and approached Jian You. "You, are you willing to bear the future of the High Barbarian Mountain bird-people tribe?" As he spoke, he observed Jian You's calm expression and subtly nodded. Jian You did not hesitate, solemnly nodding. "Clan elder, I am willing to become the leader!" In this ancient, primitive land full of dangers, without supernatural powers, only tribal strength could ensure survival. He was no longer a player - this was his one and only life. Becoming the tribal leader was also something he genuinely desired. After three years of close companionship, he was no unfeeling object. "At the very least, I will change the destiny of my bird-people," Jian You thought to himself. … Deep in the night. Moonlight spilled across the land. Jian You lay on a large blue stone at the mountain cliff's edge, breathing in the starry wilderness wind. "Thinking it through." "Old Turtle's mission indeed never mentioned how to avoid being burned by Titan's blood." "But since he was once an ordinary turtle, when bathing in Titan's blood, he couldn't have been far from the battlefield!" At this thought, Jian You's eyes brightened! "During the early rise of the human empire, Old Turtle was famous for his Thunder power. So, he was most likely bathed in Thunder Titan's blood." "And the Thunder Titan was precisely the master of the entire bird-people race." "Turtles love water. Old Turtle's secret to surviving Titan's blood must be in water!" "And where that water is, it must be in the Vast Sea Forest!" "To make a Titan Titan bleed, it must be his mortal enemy, the Blue Dragon King Arilethos!" "Only in their life-and-death battle would massive amounts of Titan blood be spilled across the forest, splashing onto Old Turtle." "So, the solution is clear. I just need to find the small stream or river where Old Turtle resided, find Old Turtle, and learn his secret of surviving Titan's blood." "And thus, awaken my supernatural powers!" Jian You's mind became crystal clear as he continued thinking. "However, the Vast Sea Forest is not somewhere anyone can go. It's the borderland of Titan Giants and Dragons, with numerous powerful subordinate races guarding it." "There won't be a shortage of supernatural beings from various races!" "If I rashly go there, I'll definitely be killed on the spot!" "No one would care about a bird-person's life, not even on the Titan side." "The only way to get there is just like my father three years ago - to respond to the bird-people royal court's conscription and become a bird-people soldier in the Vast Sea Forest!" "I just need to quickly move out when the conscription order is heard, arriving early in the Vast Sea Forest." "Bird-people are essentially scout troops. If I go early, I'll definitely be selected for the reconnaissance team. By then, I can find an opportunity to search for Old Turtle's hiding place." As his thoughts became increasingly clear, a preliminary plan formed in Jian You's mind. "The royal court conscripts bird-people soldiers from various tribes almost every decade." "So, in seven years, I must seize this opportunity!"
