Days turned into weeks, and the rift between Malaysia and Lysa seemed insurmountable. Ryder tried to stay in touch with Malaysia, but she kept her distance. Lysa, meanwhile, was torn between her loyalty to Malaysia and her growing feelings for Ryder. She knew that pursuing a relationship with Ryder would only drive Malaysia further away. One evening, as Lysa confided in Bysha, she realized that she had to make a difficult decision. "Bysha, I don't know what to do. I care about Ryder, but I also care about Malaysia." Ryder's expression softened, his eyes locked onto Lysa's. "I've been feeling the same way, Lysa." As they stood there, the tension between them was palpable.
