Nanny Gladis shocked her head in disagreement, staring at Molly and back to Sir Nathan. " You can't just send her leaving? That can affect your reputation Sire. You know the dinner is near and without a bride by your side, you won't be respected at all. " Nanny Gladis said, sounding convicing. " She is too weak to be my wife, Gladis don't you get it! She can easily be intimidated by anyone, including my very own family." He yelled, dragging Molly forward. " I'm not weak, I'm just human and I have emotions just like you, don't judge me that way! " Molly fired, leaving everyone in shock including Nathan. " How dare you!" He bellowed, raising his fist, but was stopped by Gladis. " That's enough, you needed someone tough right? I don't want you to get this the wrong way sir, I'm just looking out for you. " She said sounding softly. " Take her back to her chambers, don't let her leave untill I need her, I had a very stressful day Galdis! I'm not in for your arguments." Cartar's voice was low and menacing as he leaned in close, his breath hot against her ear. " If you ever cross my path again, I will make your life a living hell. Stay far away from me, of you don't want to unleash the beast I buried a long time ago. " Molly nodded in fear, Nathan hands gripped her hand tightly. After that, he left the sitting room, his foot step echoing down the stairs followed by the slambing of his bed room door. Molly fell on the couch, still trying to process the event that happened in her presence. Would she be able to survive in the hand of such wicked monster? Would she be able to see her family again? What have her uncle done to her. These thoughts flashed through her mind, Gladis interuptted the moment by snapping her fingers.. " I apologize for his nonchalant behaviour dear, I believe he would come around when he finally gets to know the kind of person you are. All I ask for is your patience." She pleaded going on her knees. Molly seems lost and confused. Maybe she wasn't fated to have a happy live, she have to accept it. Tears streamed down her cheeks, as she took the old woman hands into hers. She is the only mother figure who is in her life right now, she can't possibly say no. If she does, she would be left in the street because she knew her uncle wasn't ready to welcome her back into his home with an open arms not again. " He is going to kill me!" She whisper, her voice barely above whisper. " He won't, he might be a monster but not a murder, I believe you can take him dear. " She gave her a reassuring squeeze, before rising on her feet. "Please go back to your chambers Molly, you can help by obeying his orders!" She said, giving her a reassuring smile. With that, Molly went up the stairs, lost in her own thought. It was all like a nightmare and she needed to wake up. * * * Days, weeks and months past, molly life seems to be the same with similar routine, getting to meet Nathan once in a blue moon without having a conversation with him. Nanny Gladis, kept giving her hope that everything was going to be alright someday, which she actually learnt to believe. " Molly!" She exclaimed." There is a letter from Sir Nathan, it's an invitation to his family dinner. This is a great honor" * * Her hand trembling as she had the jewelry. This was suppose to happy moment more like a privilege but she was scared to her bone. Nanny Gladis helped with her lace, advicing her to put up her best behaviour. When she was ready, she went over to Sir Nathan in the sitting room. He had an unreadable expression on. It took a while before he noticed and presence. " Let's go Miss!" He said walking toward the exist. The drive to the Cater's home was quiet, she stared at the side admiring the buildings but a bit tensed too. She was scared that the Carter's family won't accept her and Nathan wasn't going to protect her. They arrived to the Carter's Estate, being welcomed by sounds of laughter's and chatters of his family. She only grew nervous as she took each step. Living with Nathan was a hell for her, she can't even explain how his own mother might be. " Oh my little boy!" A woman exclaimed in a British accent. Pulling Nathan into a hug, she ruffed his hair playfully before pecking his cheek. She could tell from the way they bounded that she was his mom. It took a moment before she noticed Molly's presence, she turned the attention to her son, the kids knew what there mother was trying to do, so they all left the dinning table without being questioned. " Oh! I can see you now have a soft spot for your workers son. You even take care of your maids perfectly now. But, still this is a family dinner. I requested for your wife and not a maid." Her voice hardened. " That's enough mother! I think you should welcome our guest be in a proper manner!" He said, his voice sounding soft and calm. " This is My wife Molly, the girl I told you about." He said, with a smile on his face. Molly stared at her in fear as her face hardened . " Who do hell do you think you are huh? What did you give to my little boy?" She yelled angrily. " A commoner? Son, she belongs to the street not in the home of the Carter's" Molly hid at Nathan's back, her face flushed with embarrassment and guilt. Mrs Carter word reminded her of the home she truly come from, she truly dosen't belong here. " I order you to take that thing off my carpet this instant!" She ordered in a thunderous voice.
