He was walking in the garden of the mansion with a black cloak on his head, hiding his face in his typical style.
Mia, in a light white dress like water, with her hair open, looked at the flowers on each plant and chattered happily as if she had forgotten everything.
"Shadow man, I want apples please." She was standing by the apple tree again today, looking at the juicy red apples with greedy eyes.
"Take it if you want. If you don't know how to climb a tree, learn. I don't like useless people and I don't allow useless people to live." Reesan said in a serious and heavy tone, and then Mia shivered with helpless fear at his tone.
" Will you kill me? How? You can't drink my blood; it's too rare and toxic.” She was looking at him with her hands on her waist and raising her eyebrows; Reesan leaned towards her and smiled.
"I don't drink human blood, Heartbeat. Humans are weak. But there are other ways to kill, like breaking the neck." He was telling her by putting his hand on her neck; Mia backed away helplessly and removed his hand from her neck.
"Humans are weak." Reesan smiled.
"Humans are not weak," she was saying through her nose. Reesan raised an eyebrow as if to say, really?
"Good, break that apple and show it." Reesan fixed his eyes on Mia's face and pointed to the apple on a branch slightly bent towards the ground with his finger. Mia looked there and shook her head.
She went to the tree, wrapped her hair and tried to climb up with her hands on it.
After taking care of her and fixing her feet on the rough skin of the tree with enthusiasm, she would climb well and fall to the ground when her foot slipped. When she failed three times in the same way, she fell to the ground, biting her lip, bowed her head, turned around and saw Reean who was looking at her with pink eyes and a smile. Embarrassment rose inside Mia.
"Are you sure that humans are not weak?" Reesan asked, taking a step forward, bending over on the ground and holding her arms and standing up.
She angrily climbed the tree again.
This time she had almost reached the branch, reaching out to grab the apple when her foot slipped.
Mia screamed with her eyes locked as she was suspended in the air. She opened her eyes in fear to find Reesan holding her in his arms and looking at her face. He laughed at Mia's sight, her feet on the ground. In the blink of an eye, he broke the apple and held it in front of her.
Mia took one look at him and held the apple. Reesan held her face in her hands and looked into her eyes. She was nervous and her eyes matched.
Reesan rested his fingers on her forehead.
As soon as he did this, he started to see her entire memory with his closed eyes.
Mia was standing motionless as if, despite her best efforts, it was becoming difficult to move. Reesan was looking at all the fears of her while combing her memory.
With a shock, he pulled his hands back, and then Mia had regained consciousness.
"What did you do to me, Shadow Man? What was all this? Why did you freeze me?" Mia looked at Apple carefully, looking at him with suspicious eyes.
Has he poisoned the apple by immobilizing her like this?
Reesan saw her uncertainty; her heart still doubted. He took a step forward.
"Shadow Man." She shouted. Throwing the apple away, a strange fear surrounded her.
She did not want to die among all these powerful people, not so quietly.
“Do you know why you are being hunted? Every time, everywhere in your world, as well as in this world, because you are weak. You give up; you believe you cannot save yourself from any trouble. You don't believe in yourself and if you don't get rid of your inner fears, you will continue to be a victim of everyone, little thing.” He stopped and started to explain to her. Mia stood in front of him considering his words.
"You won't let me die." She was standing in front of him with her hands on her chest. Reesan smiled, seeing her deep conviction.
"Do you believe I want to keep you alive? I don't like weak people.” He plucked a white flower and put it in her hair.
"I don't know what the reason is, but I know. My survival is so important to you that my blood is death to you, yet you want to keep me with you, Shadow Man.” He started looking at Mia's face.
Human being... She is a weak, cowardly and fragile person. She could not resist the Reesan's power, but she understood the Reesan's compulsion.
The beating of Reesan's heart, that noise in his chest, really forced him to keep this weak person close to him. He didn't want his heart to be as still as before and she knew it.
Reesan stepped out from her side.
"Humans are weak, but they know how to play with the weaknesses of others," Reesan said with a smile.
"So I have no threat from the Shadow Man and I also have the power to kill Lord Reesan. I can definitely control my weaknesses.'' Reesan had heard her whisper clearly as he walked away from her. That human was a very interesting experience.
One of the Vente vampires came to a halt next to Reesan and bowed his head on his knees.
"Tell Vente not to worry. If need be, I will take care of this boy Percy myself." Reesan gave him a message in his characteristic cold whisper-like tone, then he received the order and left. Running behind Reesan, Mia saw the tall white-clad boy coming and going as fast as the wind. He was one of the messengers who were to take her to Reesani Houge.
Mia's human mind had deluded her once again, she shouldn't trust anyone here, Lord Reesan had imprisoned her in the Risani houge to kill her and she would die if the Benari didn't get her out.
Reesan had stopped when he reached a pool of blue-green water; Mia ran after him and stopped to catch her breath.
"Promise me, Shadow Man. Tell me like this, you won't kill me suddenly. You have already punished me so much for painting that picture.”
"Do you know how to swim, little thing?" Reesan asked suddenly, and she backed away in fear.
"I don't like swimming. I am afraid of water. I have trauma and I…” Before Mia could finish speaking, he had grabbed her arm and thrown her into the water.
Mia's breath stopped in the cold water of this lake. Once, as a child, she fell into the lake near the house and by the time Granny arrived she was unconscious in the water feeling the fear of drowning. She had then suffered the fear of death upon herself; she had tasted the fate of drowning. She was rescued then, but the fear of drowning in the water had taken hold of her.
She, who had also left swimming classes in her school and college, was trying unsuccessfully to move her cold body in the cold lake, and was looking at the alienation in Reesan's cold icy eyes with teary eyes.
"Nothing is difficult, man. If you have to swim to save your life, swim. Otherwise, you will die a nameless death in this cold lake and no one will be able to live.” Reesan leaned towards the lake and said seriously, Mia's color started to turn white.
"Sh.. Do.. Man." Mia sobbed and called him, who was turning away from there.
"Please get me out of here, Shadow Man. I will die.” She was calling him and he was walking away from her step by step without hearing her.
"Reesan..." She moved her cold blue lips and called his name with full intensity and he stopped his steps.
Reesan paused, took a deep breath and looked back. She was saving herself from drowning in the water by running her hands and feet, her face was turning white and her lips were turning completely blue, there was immense fear of dying in her eyes.
"Can't you protect yourself, human? Save your life." He turned to her and spoke in a cold tone. Mia reached out to him.
"You are a coward. You will never be able to protect yourself.” Reesan held her hand and pulled her out of the lake and held her to his chest.
"You will not be able to take your revenge from me, human," he said in a sarcastic tone as she sought refuge in his chest.
"I.. I could kill you. My blood is poison for you.” She was threatening him while crying.
Reesan shook his head in denial.
"If you want this threat to be true, eliminate your fears. If you overcome your weaknesses, you can beat me. And no one will make you their own food here. Otherwise, you will be wandering in this world for the rest of your life.” By patting her head, Reesan had shown her the closed path in clear words.
Mia looked at him blankly. Today, like he threw Mia into the water, like he imprisoned her in the cell of the servant, like he had punished Mia by bringing her into this world, did he ever kill Mia?
And if Mia had to save her life, which she was going to save, she had to go to her home, to meet her family, and then her only solution was to accept Reesan's words.
"You scare me and weaken me by punishing you more and more so that I can't kill you. I will end my fear of Shadow Man. I won't give up so easily." She got up from him and headed towards the cottage that was a short distance away. Reesan's silver-grey eyes were starting to fill with ink as he looked at her.
"Weak human." He smiled at the water in the lake.
