Nancy montero’s POV
The bass thumped like a second heartbeat beneath my skin.
Lights flashed—blue, red, violet. The club inside the hotel pulsed with life, bodies grinding, drinks spilling, the air thick with sweat, smoke, and perfume. I slumped over the glossy bar counter, my elbow barely keeping me upright as I waved a hand lazily.
"Another one," I slurred, voice hoarse and reckless. "And bring the bottle this time. Hell—bring two."
The bartender gave me a wary look. “Miss, are you sure—”
"I'm not here for your judgment,” I snapped, slapping a hundred on the counter. “Just the damn liquor."
He gave a tight nod and turned. Wiping my face with my palm, I didn't care if I smeared my makeup further. My lipstick was already smudged. Mascara streaked my cheeks but I didn't give a damn.
“Julian, you bastard,” I cursed under my breath. “Rot in hell.”
I took a long swig from the bottle he placed down and chased it with something neon blue and far too sweet. Head spun, warmth spreading through my limbs like fire licking my skin. The ache in my chest didn’t fade—it burned hotter.
I stood—no, stumbled— making my way to the dance floor, clutching my drink.
The music swallowed me whole.
I moved to the dance floor, swaying my body like a possessed woman, my brown hair sticking to my face due to sweat. Twerking and dancing like a slut . I didn't care one bit about the stares and s****l gestures from the sick twisted men who only knew how to pull their pants down and f**k.
Hands reached out. Eyes followed.
“Damn…”
“She’s hot.”
“Yo, who is she with?”
Let them look. Let them want. Let them take what Julian threw away like trash.
Eventually, the spinning lights became too much. My feet ached, heels felt like knives. I staggered off the dance floor, barely avoiding a collision with a group of clubgoers.
“Hey, pretty lady,” a voice purred behind me.
A hand slipped around my waist.
Immediately ,my body stiffened.
“Seems like you need assistance,” the man continued, his breath warm against my ear. “Why don’t I help you?”
His hand slid further, fingertips grazing the curve of my hip.
I tried to push him off. “No. I don’t need help. Please… just go.”
But he didn’t listen. His eyes dragged slowly over her chest, then down to the hem of her dress. “Come on. It’s not safe for a hot, sexy girl like you to be out here alone.”
His hand moved upward, slowly rising above my short satin dress.
“I said get away from me,” I snapped, shoving him with both palms.
The man staggered back, face twisted in irritation. “w***e ,” he muttered before disappearing into the crowd.
I inhaled deeply, chest rising and falling like a storm was trapped inside my rib cage. Staggering , I shoved my way through the haze of perfume, sweat, and smoke, eyes blurring with tears and alcohol.
The elevator dinged open. As I leaned against the mirrored wall, watching my reflection distort under the lights, memories flooded my mind
“What the hell am I doing…”
I had booked a hotel room nearby after leaving Julian's place. Just wasn't ready to face my roommate or anyone at all.
The hallway was quiet, the carpet soft beneath my feet as I staggered toward the room. My purse strap slipped off my shoulder. I didn’t bother fixing it.
“That cunt… liar… cheat…” my voice broke with every word. “I was so stupid…”
Finally, I came to a stop in front of B15.
Fumbling with the card, I paused. The door clicked—already unlocked.
My brows furrowed. “Did I… forget to lock this? Ugh. This is all that dog’s fault.”
I shoved the door open, kicked it closed behind me, and locked it. My heels hit the wall with a dull thud as I tossed them off, followed by my purse.
I stood there for a moment, eyes unfocused, chest heaving, lost in the dim light of the hotel room.
But then I heard something — a groan.
There was something on my bed, huge and hard to ignore.
Goosebumps pricked my skin as a pair of eyes stared at me, burning into my soul.
Before I could scream, it stood in front of me.
My heart racing at a speed I never knew it could. I managed to stutter
I booked this room,“B15. This is my room.”
His eyes fluttered open. Glossy. Disoriented. He blinked slowly, then squinted at my pfigure by the door.
“What…?” His voice was hoarse. Rough. “Who the hell are you?”
“I should be asking you that,” I snapped. “This is my damn room.”
“I didn’t ask for company.” he replied
“Neither did I,” I muttered, feet ached, body burned, exhausted from the day. This wasn't what I needed.
The man stood refusing to bulge.
He was tall. Taller than Julian. Broader. His presence filled the room like smoke—slow, thick, impossible to ignore. His movements were sluggish, like he wasn’t in full control of himself. Drugged. Or drunk. Maybe both.
He stared at me like a predator ready to pounce on his prey .
And then… he stepped closer.
I managed to gather enough confidence to speak. “Don’t come closer…or I'll scream…Security “ I yelled out.
His eyes ran over me—bare legs under my satin dress, my flushed cheeks, the smudged lipstick on my mouth. Something dark flickered in his expression.
