BEN’S POV
“Where are you taking me?” Angel whined.
I tried my hardest to keep my attention on the road but I couldn’t stop the smile creeping on my face. She was adorable and she hated surprises which made this even better.
“You only have to wait five more minutes. Can you last?”
She grimaced and mumbled, “I suppose.”
As though I had a child I had to keep her entertained for the rest of the ride with guessing games until we finally reached our destination.
We got out the car and while Angel was gawking at the massive house in front of us, I was watching her.
Her reaction was exactly what I wanted.
I held out my hand. “Come on.”
Her tiny had slithered in mine and we walked up the porch steps to the door. Like promised it was unlocked and we went in.
