Aria stared into those icy blue eyes....he had moved so fast she couldn't react. His hand held her chin still. Firm yet gentle. What was it about him that made her feel so drawn. It took a second for her to realize he was asking her a question.....again.
"Did you exchange blood with the vampire?!"
All she could do was shake her head. It was all a horrible blur, but she was sure she didn't exchange blood with him. Had she, she would've turned or died....she honestly wasn't sure what would happen to a witch if she tried to be a vampire.....the different species weren't known to mingle.
He released her chin and grabbed the blanket off the floor to cover himself. Aria was trying so hard to not stare at his 3rd arm but was finding it really difficult. How can it be that big?! Obviously she wouldn't ask.
He pointed at the bed. "Sit. You're about to fall down and we need to talk." Authority rang in his voice and she found herself crossing the small distance from the chair to the bed without argument. Her adrenaline was fading and she wanted to sleep so bad.
"Who are you and how did you find me?" she finally asked as she leaned her back against the wall and stretched her legs out. An amused look crossed his face.
"You don't know who I am? " He asked.
"Am I supposed too?" she countered.
"I am a well-known alpha..." He said at last. Something about the way he said it had her questioning if that was even true.....he didn't smell like no werewolf. Then again, she never told him about herself either.
A knock at the door made her jump and she started to scoot herself across the bed when he held his hand up. "Stay, ill answer it." Aria rolled her eyes at the dog like command and crossed her arms. In doing so, realizing her state of dress. She could feel the heat rise to her cheeks as she reached for a pillow to cling to her chest. The vampire had ripped her shirt....she felt violated and instantly gross. She needed a shower. A voice at the door caught her attention. She couldn't see who was on the other side but she saw him reach a suitcase through the door opening. A suitcase?! Uhm no!
"Sir Kaden, here are your things. Ill await further instructions." With that the door closed and his friend was gone. Kaden? What a suiting name....it sounded familiar. Kaden plopped the suitcase onto her bistro table and snapped it open. Pulling out a pair of joggers and a t-shirt, he dropped the blanket, to her horror and delight, and got dressed. Right there in front of her.
Aria slid off the bed and made her way to the small bathroom. "Where are you going?" He asked. She gave him the meanest stare she could muster. "If it is all right with you, I need a quick shower." He nodded before resuming tying his pants.
"Where are you going?" she mocked under her breath as she turned the knob to warm the shower and began undressing. Her body hurt and her throat was sore. Climbing into the shower, she let out an involuntary moan as the hot water hit her skin. She stood several moments just letting it all hit her. She felt her eyes swell up and the tears fall silently down her face. He had almost killed her....and for what? She was a nobody. A vampire had wanted her. Of all creatures.
Taking a deep breath, she quickly washed her body and hair before turning the water off and grabbing a towel off a nearby hook.
She scrunched her hair in the towel to help it dry before wrapping her body in the towel. Aria reached for her shorts and felt her face go instantly red.....she didn't grab her clothes. She had been so distracted by Mr.Handsome out there that she didn't grab anything to wear. She looked at the pile of dirty clothes she had just discarded in the corner. ripped and charred......charred??
Realization hit her like a brick. There had been fire. Was it from the vampire? Did the stranger...or Kaden I assume...do it? She smacked herself in the forehead. "why can't I remember..." She knew it wasn't her....she had grown up with zero powers. She was an outcast to her kind. The Witchery had put her into numerous tests...some she's shocked she even survived....and they all yielded the same results. That Aria was a human with a witches blood line. At 18 she ran away as far as she could get....and had lived in this small town for 2 years....
She laughed to herself when she remembered the date....her birthday.....tomorrow was her 21st birthday. Not that she celebrated them or had reason too. Most would be out drinking and partying with their friends on their 21st. Not Aria. She kept to herself and found pleasures in the small things..like reading a book or hiking in the woods behind her house...
A knock on the door made her jump and she instinctively pulled the towel closer around her. "I'll be out in a minute!" she said with as much frustration as she could muster...which wasn't much. The events of the day and her fever were getting the better of her. Not having much of a choice but to enter the bedroom in her towel, she snugged it tighter one last time and turned to grab the handle, only to stop in surprise when she glanced her reflection in the mirror. Her hand flew to her mouth and she leaned in closer to look at her reflection. Her throat was beginning to bruise from the vampire but it was her hair that caught her attention....Her auburn hair was red...like fire engine red. After opening and closing her eyes multiple times, she knew she wasn't dreaming. Aria started studying other features on her face. Her freckles were more pronounced and her eyes seemed even brighter emerald than normal....but there was a difference to their shape...to the shape of her Iris. It looked like someone else was staring back at her....that it wasn't even her at all...
"This cant be happening...." she murmured. Still in a daze and lost in thought she opened the bathroom door.
