Forever Lost

“Where did you go off too, Bell?” Princess Daphne asked while she got her hair fixed by one of the handmaidens. My eyes were soft, but my demeanor was still its usual roughness.         I bowed my head. “I had to change back into the dress you picked for me, my lady. I apologize for my lateness.”         Daphne looked behind her guardian and sighed. “I thought you were showing Prince Zohar around. Was he not with you?”         Before I could say anything, Prince Zohar showed up behind me.         “No, your highness. I was in the barracks checking out equipment and got mud all over my pants so I put on clean ones before I saw you again. What did you need me for, Princess?” Zo asked lazily leaning against the wall, eyeing me since the princess wasn’t looking.         I glanced over to see him staring with a smirk on his lips, and to my surprise, my heart quickened its pace as I remembered the feeling of his lips on mine. Simply thinking about his power as it intertwined with my own was taking my breath away. This was bringing back memories of the first time I felt like this, and it was starting to worry me.         I looked back over to my princess and took a deep breath. “May I go and make sure the banquet hall is ready and secure, my lady?”         “You may, we will be there shortly.” Daphne said, glancing over to me right as Zohar looked away. She gave me a little wink before focusing back to her hair.         As I passed Zohar to leave, I watched him turn his face to the ground to hide it.         Make sure your free later on tonight, corporal. There are a few things I want to ask you. He said in thought to me, before looking back up to the princess with a smile. “What’s for dinner, your highness?”               I let out a deep sigh, one that was released straight from my soul. Having conflicting feelings was starting to drive me insane. I felt like I was being bullied. While at the same time, I felt like I was the most powerful person in the world from having the attention of a man I used to adore on the battlefield. I was starting to think he remembered what all happened between us.         Trying to push thoughts of the Prince out of my mind, I went back to work, drowning my feelings and focusing on the importance of the princess instead.         As I entered the massive banquet hall, my eyes scanned the room. I found the hall master and started my advance.         “Prince Zohar will be to the princess’s right-hand side between her and the queen!”               The banquet started without a hitch. Me and Mace stood behind our masters like statues, watching over everything. After the dinner, the princess took the prince to a reclusive courtyard, behind them us companions followed in silence. I knew the courtyard well. It was a place Daphne used when she wanted ‘intimate alone time’ with a man. In all I had to escort the princess and her lovers back here over a dozen times, but this time was different. My heart pounded in my chest while my breath caught in my throat. I struggled to understand the feeling, and I was confused to know that this feeling…was jealousy. The fright I felt imagining the princess laying under Prince Zohar was unnerving. I swallowed hard as the Prince glanced back over his shoulder at me. Then I realized, he could have known what I was thinking just then. Thinking about him and the princess together and how it infuriated me, he probably knew. Without hesitation, I lifted my head high and refused to meet his gaze. I showed utter defiance to my commanding general. He shook his head before looking back in front of him.         That attitude will get you nowhere. Zo thought, knowing I would hear him.         When we reached the start of the courtyard, Princess Daphne stopped and turned to me and Mace. “This is the end for you two. Bell, will you take the princes companion and entertain him for a while? Thank you, come over here, my prince. I want to show you my lovely prized roses.”         Zohar smirked as he glanced over to me. I’ve already seen the best rose in the world.         I snorted and turned away, mostly to hide my blushing face.  “As you wish, your highness. This way, Mace. We can go to the pub…We’ll be waiting for a while.”         Mace raised an eyebrow as I strode past him with my head held high.                 Mace and I sat next to each other at the bar. For a long while neither of us said anything to the other. This situation felt awkward for both. Sitting and waiting while our masters did things we didn’t want to know. The knowledge that I had of the courtyard was starting to eat at me until I couldn’t take the silence any longer.         “What did you mean earlier when you said that you know what happened during the war and Zohar’s Haze? Were you there with us?” I asked before taking a sip of my beer.         Mace nodded. “I was always wearing my family’s traditional painted war mask. I…ended up walking up to the top of the castle one night and while I was up there… you and Prince Zohar came up and…”         I nearly chocked on my malt as I looked over to Mace. “Wait, what? You were there that night?”         “I’m sorry, Lady Rose.” Mace put a hand over his eyes, a sign of apology in the Vampyr Kingdom.         I took a deep breath. “What all did you see?”         He sighed as he took a massive chug off his malt. “A lot more than I really wanted. I didn’t know the Haze for a Hybrid was like that until then. I knew of most the things the Haze caused people to do up to that point, but that was…again I’m truly sorry for what happened to you.”         I closed my eyes for a moment to collect my thoughts. I remembered that night very well, no matter how hard I have tried to forget it.         After King Virote Turned Zohar, I watched him dropped to the ground and wither in severe pain. Thrashing as his body started to shift to his Earth form. Instead of four wolfy legs, he shakily stood up on two. He was transforming into a horrifying crossbreed. Zohar looked like a massive wolf that stood on two legs rather than four. He let out a terrifying howl as his face bones contorted and broke into place. When his transformation was completed, he dropped down to his knees. I watched him take a few deep breaths before looking up right into my eyes.         “Stars, have mercy on me...” I whispered as he stood back up, never breaking eye contact with me.         Without notice he shot off towards me. I barely had enough time to roll out of the way when he swiped towards me. I grunted while stumbling to my feet, running as fast as I could. Using every last bit of energy I had left to get away from Zohar as he chased after me like a foxhound. From behind me, I could hear the King yelling for us both, but I was too far away to hear what he was saying. All I knew was I had to stay away from Zohar, he might kill me if he caught me.         This was the first time I witnessed a vampire turning, let alone a Hybrid, I had no idea what to expect.         I rounded the corner of a broken building and leaned against the wall as I tried to catch my breath. My chest burned from the running and the gash to my body. Suddenly the entire wall was taken out from around me. I covered my face while brick flew all around me. My screaming voice echoed though the destroyed village, and with a quick huff I was off again. Behind me buildings crumbled from Zohar, and when I glanced back all I saw was his blood red eyes staring back at me.         You can’t run from me forever.         My eyes went wide when I heard his voice growl into my mind as if he was an inch away from my ear. My eyes threatened to water up as the fear was starting to get to me. This was the first time I had even felt a fear like this, and it was debilitating. I couldn’t think right, my head was filled with nothing but panic.         Without knowing it, I rounded another corner and stared at the great and mighty Tower of the King. King Virote’s main base for the war. I stopped for a mere second to think. And that was it.         Zohar’s ferocious arms wrapped around me, squeezing to the point of me letting out a violent scream from the pain. He launched us off the ground and up to the towers top. He let me go the moment we touched the roof, giving me enough time to breathe before he was at me again. His massive clawed hands wrapped around my throat, cutting off my air. I tried to kick at him to get free, I attempted to use my power, but that was brushed off from my lack of energy. My eyes speckled with black as I started to lose consciousness, but then suddenly he set my down on the ground. While I held my hand to my throat he paced in a circle around me like a vulture. I watched as he fought with himself, back and forth weather to hurt me or leave me alone. He was fighting himself to keep from killing me.         I debated on speaking to him, but I feared if I did it would only provoke him further. He lunged for me again, but at the last moment he turned away. I let out a sigh of relief while I watched him begin to slowly turn back into his humanoid figure. Except now, even that looked different. His hair seemed darker, his eyes were now permanently blood colored, and his vampire fangs took their place. A black aura seemed to engulf Zohar as I stumbled to my feet. I watched him screamed out in agony, throwing his fists into the wall that enclosed the massive lantern. He was changing back into the monster again. His bones snapped, echoing into my ears as I put my hands to them to block out the noise. Then suddenly I was on the ground. My back hit the brick and mortar hard, and when I opened my eyes, they were inches away from bloody red ones. My lip quivered from the pain and fear coursing through me. I saw his face turn into the face of a wolf monster. He opened his jaw wide to growl at me, but when I met his eyes again I saw his own fear reflected in them.         Please…help me…do…anything…please…I don’t…want to hurt you…                 Zohar’s strained pleading voice whispered into my mind while I trembled. For some reason, my whole being wanted to give in and let him do whatever he wanted to me, but my mind was stronger. I had only a moment to think of something to calm and help Zohar before he slaughtered me right there on the roof. As I watched him contort back into his humanoid figure, I got an idea.                 “Okay, I will help you. Just…please…try to not rip me apart.” I said nearly in a whisper before I let out a deep breath.                 My gaze was gentle as I reached a shaky hand up to touch the side of his face. I stroked his cheek softly, melting his mind away from the primal want to kill me that had overwhelmed him. My skin felt like ice against his fevered skin, giving him the chills when my hand moved down his throat to his broad bare chest. My other hand moved behind his head to pull him down. To my disbelief Zohar obeyed and leaned in.                 Without hesitation, I pressed my lips to his, feeling his whole-body tense as soon as our skin touched. I ran my tongue over his bottom lip enticingly, getting him to give in and allowing me to deepen the kiss. My leg wrapped around his left one to hold him in place. Zo’s heart pounded against his chest erratically while our tongues molded against each other’s. I let out a slight moan when he nipped my bottom lip, breaking open the skin ever so gently. This gave him that little kick to send him over the edge. His lips became rougher as he began to drink my blood while we kissed. One of his hands moved down to my chest, dragging one nail down my entire torso and cutting open what was left of my corset top and shirt to expose me to him. His hand groped my breasts roughly, I moaned against his lips, both of us completely forgetting that I was injured. Then with a quick jerk he yanked me off the ground to put my back against the lighthouse wall, adjusting me so his hips were against mine. That’s when I realized when he was switching our positions he had somehow managed to remove my shredded pants, and they were now in several pieces behind us scattered across the ground.                 My hands gripped his skin tightly as Zohar pushed himself inside me. I leaned my head back and couldn’t help the erotic moan that was produced. He slid as deep as he could inside me, feeling my whole body quiver taking him in. I ran my tongue over my teeth feeling how big he was, and let out a loud moan as he began to thrust in and out steadily. Zohar watched my exotic fevered face with enjoyment. He couldn’t stop himself leaning forward to sink his teeth into my soft neck while slamming deep. I cried out at the initial puncture, but everything after that was pure bliss. As he pushed in and out of my center he drew blood, giving both of us a euphoric feeling. My legs tightened around his waist when he pulled back to look at me again. The two bright red blood trails ran down and into my chest wound, and after I let out another loud heated moan he spun us around.         I was now on my hands, bent over the edge of the tower with Zohar slamming into me roughly from behind. My voice was like music to his ears as he listened to my cries and moans, he couldn’t get enough of it. He grasped my hips tightly to get himself in deeper and with more force, causing my back to dip into a deep arch. My nails dug into the brick and I felt myself starting to climax. Zohar let out a haunting laugh as he felt me tighten around his shaft. He reached his hand around to play with my c**t while I dripped from my orgasm, giving me more pleasure than I expected. But neither of us were close to being done. Zo pulled back to sit down with me on his lap facing him, letting out a slight moan of his own as I began to bounce on him. He leaned forward to gently play with my n****e with his tongue, losing my mind before he moved up to my wound. Unable to stop him, his tongue slid across the damaged skin, yanking flesh and blood along with it.                 I sucked in a breath as I let my head fall back. His hands ran all over my body while I licked the blood off my lips, and when he looked up to me, I leaned down to kiss him. He could taste my blood on my tongue and felt like this was the closest he would ever come to complete. I let out another excited moan when he grabbed my hips to plant them down to his roughly.                 Forever.                                 His heated voice rang through my ears like a chime, giving an ominous, haunting feeling that he was right. Forever. I was lost to him, forever.
