Welcome To Ja-kkar

Chapter 1:                 In the city of Ja-kkar, and in the Land of Ros-Titan:                 The spoiled Princess Daphne Stratfield rolled her eyes at her mother, Queen Denae of Ja-kkar as I laid out on the daybed. “Yes, mother.”                 The emotional static in the air was hostile. Without even thinking the Princesses Halo Elite, me, Rosabell Ezra, used my energy to calm the young women down. The queen nodded her head in approval, and continued reassuring her daughter.                 Earlier in the day Daphne had been telling me about how she was going to try and marry a wealthy Energy User from a different Land. Now, her mother has told her that she had to marry a man she has never met, but everyone knew of throughout all the Lands. His name is Zohar “Zo” Incoy-Wencroft, the seventh and last Progeny of the Vampire King, Virote Wencroft. He rules Zarek and all Veliam, or as some call now The Dread Lands. The Dread War was between the Vampires and Kin-Wolf that lasted almost a hundred years and took a toll on both sides. A war that many had participated in, yet only several thousand soldiers had survived on each side. Me and Zo had both been a part of it, also on opposing sides before he was made Vampire and became one of the only Hybrids ever made. I barely saw him on the battlefield until he switched sides from the Kin-Wolves to Vampires after he was Turned. Giant rhino sized Dire wolves that tore people to shreds in seconds, they took so many of my people and the Vampires out. After he switched sides though…                 “Do you want me ripped apart, mother? Those people turn into monsters!” Daphne yelled as she threw herself dramatically down on the day couch like a child. Her dress fell around her like a shroud. She acted like this quite a lot.                 Queen Denae threw her pale hands up. “My dear girl why are you throwing a fit about this, I thought you wanted to be rich and well taken care of for the rest of your life like you are now? Prince Zohar is the second richest Progeny of King Virote from the war, speaking of the war you do remember who mostly decided the fate of it? He did if you have forgotten, he’s a war hero. If you doubt, ask your Elite guardian for the thousandth time for Rosabell fought by his side in battle like an honorable woman. One could say she knows the Prince personally. She even saved the royal family...”                 “I know I know! But he is scary! All the maids say he is nothing but a soldier through and through. Could you imagine how he is in bed?” Daphne said crying and waving her hand around as if to make her point more solid. I had to resist rolling my eyes.                 “My Lady Daphne, he is the most revered warrior of the Dread War and a prince on top of it. I don’t think you are alone when it comes to being scared. If I was in your position I would be overjoyed about this arrangement.” I said trying to reassure my Ladyship, completely ignoring the part about the prince in bed and about knowing the prince personally. I didn’t want to talk about it for my own personal reasons.                 The young eighteen year old girl looked down and thought for a minute or two. Then she sighed before jumping up out of her seat. “Okay, I will do it for you mother, but if it gets messy I will have to have Bell deal with him, and we all know she is crafty plus the best around all of Ros-Titan. Possibly even stronger than the Dread Prince himself. The only thing is that I have one condition I would like to make.”                 In the capital Zarek of Veliam.                 “She what?” Zohar said from the seat of his favorite chair as he watched his Father pace in front of the fireplace.                 “Queen Denae has agreed to our proposal, but your future human wife has made a condition. She wishes for you to go to Ja-kkar and meet her in person for a few days, then make the ceremony arrangements. She will even come back here with you before the wedding. It must be a Ros-Titian thing, but you do know you will have to do this. How I wish you would have found a suitable mate during the war…” King Virote said, throwing the paper into the fire.                 The Hybrid smiled as he leaned back. “Yes sir. I smile, tell my how great she is. Then I marry her and give her the gift of what we are for the future of Veliam, our child will be the heir to the Ja-kkar throne. As easy as stealing a baby bird from its nest, but why are you so nervous about this Father?”                 The King turned around, slowly walking toward his seventh Progeny. “Her Highness has a guardian, a Halo Elite that is assigned to her. That’s what makes me hesitant, son. This Halo is not a normal soldier by any means, she is a talented little thing and revered by the people of Ros-Titan from the war. They call her Rosabell the Bloody Beauty in Stian, because of all the ways she can make you bleed. Rosabell may have been a young Energi User when the war started, but she was as good as two dozen of my soldiers put together to help our odds greatly. She is not to be taken lightly now she is seasoned. Rosabell even fought alongside of you a lot of the time, son. I’m surprised you don’t remember seeing her beauty on the battlefield. I know I do. I know you two...” The King sighed before he shook his head. “If only Rosabell was a Princess of our allies…I would rather have you make a loyal and fierce warrior like Rosabell of Stian your mate and bride than a woman who cannot even protect herself from your siblings, but to my extensive knowledge she is not. So, we are at a dead end, because I need to thank the supporting province’s including Ja-kkar and their people for being with us in the time of war quickly, seeing how it was almost twenty years ago. -Which is a long time to the humans might I add.”                 Zohar shrugged. “We will thank them soon enough with this ceremony, it will be easy to make Princess Daphne bend to our will. As for her Elite, that’s where my job will begin to be a challenge, and how I do love challenges. Tell them I will be on my way there at once.” He stood and went to leave. “Be well, Father.”
