Pov Declan-
I cannot stand when my dad decides to check up on me and the firm every time he decides to come into town! He hardly ever calls or shows up and has basically had me running this place for the past 3 years on my own and every time he undermines every accomplishment and achievement I have made in this goddamn building. I hate it. If he wanted anything done differently then he should stick around or pick someone else to run the place! The only nice thing he had to say on Wednesday was that I lucked out getting the chance to hire Luci. I hasn’t realized who she was and honestly I wouldn’t have minded so much anyways if i had, I just hired her because she was very pretty and she had a gentle, people’s person mentality. Her smile was just as gentle and i needed that for the front desk and important board meetings. She can also read and type fairly fast and she’s the only person I’ve been able to find that is able to read and write shorthand when I’m belting out orders. She follows instructions very well too and I can appreciate that too. I love a girl that listens and follows instructions! The only thing I am not too fond of is how she is eager to please so much that she is almost fearful of making mistakes and of brutal retaliation. She doesn’t have to fear anyone especially not me and mistakes will only help her achieve the learning she so desperately wants. maybe I’ll be able to help her with some of that since she is going to be my executive secretary. I just hope she was told the truth about our family’s secret, I’m not sure if she’d handle it if she doesn’t know already… she’s very timid and I have a feeling that no one had told her.. trust will be the first thing i need to get from her or if i want to be able to keep her safe here.
Week 1-
Pov Declan
Luci is doing incredibly well handling everything in the office for me. I was even able to extend my lunch and bump 2 of my meetings because she did amazing consulting with the partnerships i was scheduled to meet with. I couldn’t believe she made so much time for herself in between me barking orders to categorize and alphabetize every book and file in my office! She even managed to make my job easier with that. The only trouble I’ve been having is trying to get past her eagerness to stay later and her wanting more overtime… until she understands the true nature of what goes on here i just can’t risk having her be here past 7pm… I’m just not sure how she would react and I couldn’t possibly risk her running into Donovan, he’s far too cocky and unpredictable and I don’t trust him! He has a very bad habit of destroying everything that is delicate and innocent and she has a tendency to be both of those things…
