It had been five and a half weeks since she had fled during the night and Chase felt like he was going to lose his mind, not only had he lost his mate, but his panther had almost completely blocked him out. He was close to losing hope, when his private investigator let him know to meet him at the secret warehouse he kept for just such occasions; no one knew about it, not even his guards who he usually lost before going there. By his investigator’s tone of voice there was something worth his attention. But he had to think of a way to sneak away without his father finding out about it. He would have used his panther to sneak away if he hadn’t refused to shift or really communicate with him since the incident, which made his thoughts a very lonely place and he wasn’t used to it at all.
