Chapter Twenty-Nine: Blood Oaths

1218 Words

Lucien’s POV I stood with Elena in my arms, her heartbeat thudding faintly against my chest like a fading drumbeat—steady, but fragile. She had just summoned power I’d never seen. Not from an Alpha. Not from a Luna. Not even from the oldest witches I’d met during my darker days in the underworld. She was the Hollow now. And that terrified me. Not because I feared her—but because I feared what the world would do when they realized what she was becoming. My grip tightened around her limp body as I carried her deeper into the heart of the Hollow. Kira and Dante followed in silence. The battlefield behind us was soaked in blood, bodies strewn across the moss-covered ground like discarded puppets. Some of the rogues had fled when the earth swallowed their leader. Some hadn’t made it far.
