Amelia POV:
I berry my face deep into the comfy pillows that surround me. I feel like I’ve been laying on a cloud all night, I don’t think I’ve ever slept this good. Taking a deep breath I suddenly realize that I’m not in my room. My eyes flutter open quickly to see a bright beautiful blue sky sparkle through the window. As I finally remember where I’m at I realize now that I’m not laying on my cot that I fell asleep in. Shooting up from my stomach and sitting up, I look around the room to see a very large lump laying on the cot while his legs hung off one end and his arms hand off the sides. Jaxsons laying on his back like a rag doll that doesn’t fit on the bed.
Letting out a small giggle I see him stir in his sleep. His snores stop and he sits up quickly looking for around with concern before he spots me staring then that concern turned into a large sleepy smile.
“Good morning sunshine” he says still half asleep
“Good morning, um did you move me last night?” I ask concerned noticing that I was completely tucked into the blankets and littered with pillows.
He leans forward and crutches the back of his head nervously, “Yeah well I thought you needed some decent sleep and you didn’t look very comfortable on the cot.” He stood up quickly and started to rush around the room grabbing items from the closet. “Plus I did tell you that you got to sleep in the bed and I’m a man of my word.” Now sounding more confident. He stopped to look at me while holding clothes “Did you sleep well?”
“Yes, this bed is absolutely amazing but you looked like you were sleeping on a doll bed when I woke up. You barley fit, tonight I’ll sleep on the cot and you can have the bed.” Feeling bad for basically kicking him out of his fantastically comfy bed.
“Oh sunshine, as long as I know that you are close to me I rest easy. I won’t have you sleeping on some cot anymore, you deserve better.” He says lovingly to me making me blush lightly “I got to head to training, I’m already running late but I’ll be done in 3 hours or so and we can head out to go shopping for all the things that you need after.”
Before I could argue he walked into the bathroom and shut the door to change. I laid back down in bed and stared out the window while letting my mind picture Jaxson in training. I drift back to sleep dreaming about my mate running, sparing and lifting. Hmmmmm
....
After another hour I woke up again and couldn’t get myself back to sleep. Deciding to get up and go for a run, hoping that it would help relax me a little. I’ve been so anxious since I’ve gotten here and running always seems to calm me down.
Being a women, and the alphas pet, I was never allowed to train with the warriors but I managed to convince the alpha that running helped keep my form. Making it the only time I ever got to leave the pack house. At first I was followed on every run but eventually I was allowed to run alone with the threat of death if I even tried to get close to the boarder.
After grabbing my running shoes, work out shorts, and a tank top I headed into the bathroom to put my hair in a pony tail. Quickly managing, I headed down stairs towards the door and as I opened it I ran face first into what seemed like a wall of a man.
Taking a step back I look up to see a guy about as tall as the door frame. Fully built and standing in front of me shirtless. “U-Um...I’m so sorry, I didn’t see you.” I stutter out in embarrassment.
“Oh hey , you are that Amelia chick right?” He smiles at me, god everyone here is just so happy all the time.
“Yeah, I guess that’s me.” I reply shyly looking down at my running shoes.
“Well Im one of Jaxsons younger brothers Keith.” Looking up I see he’s holding his hand out to me to shake. I can see the resemblance now even though he has more of his mother’s characteristics like the blue eyes, lighter brown hair, and the dimple on his right cheek.
“Oh it’s so nice to meet you,” I say less embarrassed and confused “I’m sorry but I honestly don’t know a lot about the family. How many sibling are there?” I didn’t even know Jaxson had a brother so my shock is a little more than expected when Keith said brothers.
“Well it’s Jaxson, me, then clay, and then Delilah. So four kids all together.” He looks at me questioningly like I should know this already but Jaxson and I haven’t exactly been able to get to know each other that well yet. I nod in understanding, figuring a verbal response would just lead to me embarrassing myself even more. “So whatcha doin’?”
“Oh I was just heading out for a run, kinda need to get out of my head. If Jaxson comes looking for me would you let him know?” I ask with my sweetest voice.
“Yeah no problem, just don’t get lost.” He laughs at me and finally steps aside to let me through the door way. I walk myself to the edge of the Forrest, feeling my feet itching to start moving. I pick up my pace slowly building up to a steady run and just let my legs carry me.
Before I know it, I find myself looking through the Forrest hearing all of the creatures and sounds of the leaves moving all around me. Focusing on the sounds I realize that with my extended Wolf hearing that I can detect a large group of people farther into the Forrest.
Making my way towards the sounds as they grow louder I find myself staring into a large empty open field. Multiple sparing circles are littered around one side, an extended obstacle course stretched on the far side, while the other side shows a very large grey pull barn. With the large garage door facing the grounds stood wide open.
As curious as ever I chose to walk towards the open doors and slowly notice all of the pack members huddled in a circle in the middle. Cheering and howls erupted from the people standing.
A handful of people notice me and bow in my direction noticing me but I continue towards the middle of the circle trying to find out what’s going on.
Stopping suddenly I see him. Jaxson, shirtless and dripping in sweat mixed with a little bit of blood dripping from his cut lip. He’s sparing with someone I’ve never seen before. He looks like a big guy but Jaxson is bigger and noticeably faster on his feet.
Goddess, I don’t think I’ve ever been so turned on in my life.
Knocking myself out of my trance I see everyone staring at me, some kindly, some excited, and some lustfully. Before I know it a very large but recognizable growl pierces through the air making everyone jump including me. I look up this time to meet eyes with Jaxson, he was fuming now with eyes black.
Willow whimpers in the back of my head scared of our mate. We’ve seen that look far too many times but this is the first time coming from him and it hurts. I quickly cast my eyes down to the ground and run out of the gym like room, embarrassed. Tears pooling in my eyes making me run as fast as I possibly could but when the tingles shot up my arm pulling me to a stop I knew that it was useless.
Quickly I am pushed up against a nearby tree and pinned by his still half naked body. Neither of us speaking, I felt the rush of fear sear through me before a second wave of arousal came soaking into my core. I wanted to be as far away as possible but I also couldn’t stand the thought of him not touching me.
“What the hell where you thinking?!?” He breathed down my neck, anger in every syllable. His voice much deeper and menacing than usual.
“...uh...I...n-nothing....” stuttering through every word trying to form a reply but he interrupted me before I could get anything out.
“You can’t just go around wolfs un-marked like that. I could smell your arousal and so could every other un-mated male in there!” He said through gritted teeth. “Do you even see what you are wearing, I can’t keep saving you from this if you are just asking for it!” I didn’t realize that his claws were protruding and digging into the bark behind me.
Still not being able to look him in the eyes I stumbled out the only words I could form in the moment. “I’m so sorry alpha.... I just saw you in your fighting stance and something came over me... I shouldn’t have been there...” it’s all true, I wasn’t suppose to be there, my arousal was from looking at his half naked body drenched in sweat, and I regret following my curiosity.
As if something came over Jaxson, he pushed off the tree trunk behind me and took several steps back. Running a hand through his wet and tousled hair I saw the color in his eyes shift between black and grey. He looked at me as if he was in pain, sadness in his eyes told me he realized his mistake but it was already too late. I’m shaking against the tree in pure fear while flashbacks of the painful times over populate my mind. The un-shed tears from earlier pooling over into light gasping sobs.
‘Maybe he is more like carter than we thought.’ Willow cringed
Doing the only thing I knew to do I started running. I heard his voice slightly back to normal call from behind me “...Amelia...” but I didn’t stop.
I had no clue where I was going but I knew I couldn’t turn around. I just had to get away. Following the same general path I took earlier I finally made my way back to the pack house. Quickly I did the only thing I could think of and ran straight upstairs into our bedroom and locked the door behind me.
As I pressed my back against the door I burst into deeper sobs as they raked through my body. I just didn’t understand. Jaxson had been so kind and sweet ever since we met. I thought everything was actually going well but seeing that side of him, knowing he’s capable of the same things as alpha Carter. I just knew what I was going to have to do...
When my tears stopped falling and my sobs subsided, I kept my back against the door thinking. Light knocks came from the other side causing me to jump and wrap my arms around my body for protection. I hear his voice in a calm soft whisper through the door, “Please Amelia...open the door.... please...” I could hear the pain and sadness in his voice but I couldn’t care. I can’t even look at him.
After twenty minutes of trying to get me to open the door he finally gave up. I could feel the distance between us as he walked away, letting out a small breath of relief.
“What do I do now willow?....” I ask, she has been the only one I could talk to. My only friend I’ve ever had.
She stayed silent for a minute, thinking of our options. “Nothing. He is out mate. You need to keep being strong Amelia, there is more to come.” She says in a calm and powerful voice.
“Like what? What else is left for me? How do you know?” Confused by what she’s saying. What does that even mean?
“You’ll see sweetie but trust me you are stronger than you think. You need to access the power that you have within you.” She whispers in my head with confidence.
“What power? Willow, you don’t make any sense?!” I scream at her in frustration.
“Just trust me Amelia. I know with everything you’ve been through you think you are weak, but that is the complete opposite. You are special, strong, a warrior. You will see soon, just have some faith in yourself.”
All I manage is a nod in understanding. I can sense her smile as I think about everything that she’s said. “Now get your ass cleaned up, and get the hell out of this room.” She tells me as more of a demand than a suggestion.
Standing up with a little more determination and courage I head straight towards the shower. I’m gonna wash this sad little girl off and I’ll come out like a queen.
....
After my long cleansing shower, I got dressed and even did my make up and hair a little. I always feel more confident after sprucing myself up and I’ll take all the confidence I can get. With one hand on the door handle, I take a deep breath and set out to find Delilah and Nicole.
As I open up the door I stumble forward over someone sitting in front of the door. After stepping around them I realized it was Jaxson again. “What the f**k?” I stammer with frustration. That’s the second time he’s done that!
“Ow!” He grunts after I basically kicked him in the head. I step in front of him now with my arms crossed across my chest. While he rubs one hand over the spot I just kicked he blushed up towards me with a sweet but nervous smile. I don’t even bother to smile back. I just glare.
He starts to try and say something but changes his mind like he can’t figure out how to say it. Still very upset and frustrated, I decide that I don’t want to hear anything that comes out of his mouth. I turn on my heel and head straight down the stairs. “Amelia wait!” He calls out to me but I ignore him. I can feel him following me but he doesn’t try and stop me.
As I finally reach the last floor I head straight towards the kitchen area but no ones around. Until I hear giggling outside on the back porch that leads out from the kitchen. “Please stop...” He calls out again but I won’t give him the time of day. Instead I walk straight out the double doors to the porch and see Delilah and another girl sitting at the table.
“Hey Delilah, would you mind going shopping with me?” I ask basically interrupting there conversation. I know I was being rude but I need to get out of here and away from Jaxson.
“Oh...hey Amelia,” she says with a smile but that smile quickly turns into a frown when she glances behind me and probably sees Jaxsons face “yeah that sounds like a great idea!” Her eyes getting a little bit bigger with excitement but I don’t think it was because of the shopping. “Let me grab my purse and we’ll head out.” She states almost ignoring her friend now making me feel a lot worse than before.
The voice I’ve been ignoring pops up again “I’ll come too.”
“No.” I state frustrated without even giving him a second glance.
Delilah stands up uncomfortably heading to the door but she can’t pass with Jaxson standing like a bolder in the doorway. I can tell they are mind linking now because their body language is changing but they are completely silent. Finally though Jaxson looks up at me, huffs and steps to the side letting her go grab her things.
Jaxson walks straight up to me, reaching into his pocket for something. He pulls out his wallet and holds out a black credit card. I just glare at him longer and try not to loose my temper. Of course I don’t have any money but I don’t want to use his money either. Before I could make a decision Delilahs swipes the card out of Jaxsons hand making the choice for me.
“Thanks bro!” She says with a smile then turns to me “Ready?”
I just nod in response and walk past Jaxson. I can still feel the pull towards him but I don’t care right now.
After getting into Delilah's car, which was a cute bolts wagon bug in grey, I started to relax. We kept with small talk but she didn’t bother asking me about what happened or anything which was the way I liked it. We found out that we are into the same music so we sang our hearts out all the way to the mall, laughing the whole time.
Never have being to a mall before I decide to let Delilah lead the way. You can tell that this place is her sanctuary. She’s very comfortable in this environment but I on the other hand have no clue what I’m doing . This place was just so big and there are so many people.
“So what store do you want to start with?” Delilah asked me while clapping her hands excitedly.
“Um...I...don’t know.... I’ve never been.” She looked at me with pure shock.
“Wait you’ve never been to a mall?” I guess she doesn’t believe me.
“Well yeah and I’ve never been shopping...” Now she doesn’t even bother to move. She shakes her head in disbelief finally and huffs grabbing my hand and pulling me to what I'm guessing is a clothing store.
....
Four hours later we are finally walking towards the pack house with what feels like a hundred bags of stuff. After having Delilah teach me how to shop, she kept tossing items into my arms to go try on. I insisted that I just needed some basic items but she wasn’t convinced. We went in to every single store buying clothes, shoes, purses, jewelry and even lingerie Apparently if I was to stick around I would need multiple formal dresses and outfits.
I tried to argue because even-though I am mad at Jaxson I didn’t want him to go broke but all Delilah did was laugh at me and kept shopping so apparently money didn’t matter. Eventually I stopped looking at the prices or the receipts and just let Delilah do her thing.
When we walk through the front door we are still giggling from a story she was telling about her friends but we both came to a complete stop when we see Jaxson leaning against the hallway wall staring at us. He smiles sweetly at both of us, which makes willow very happy but I’m not believing it. So I just glare back at him.
“Did you guys get enough things?” He half laughs at us, coming towards us taking some of the bags from my hands.
“Well this is all hers. My things are still in the car.” Delilah shrugs at him but I’m petrified. What if he gets mad that we spent too much money?!? I stare at him trying to read his body language.
“Good, as long as Amelia got everything she wants and needs.” He says with a smile that makes me finally let out the breath I didn’t know I was holding. We all head upstairs with the majority of the bags and place them on the floor by the table and chairs. I start to take some items out to look over what we bought and organize them. Everyone in the room is too quiet and I look over my shoulder to see Delilah and Jaxson mind linking again. Why won’t they just talk in front of me?
Delilah finally decides to speak up “...So, I’m gonna go grab my things from the car now, I’ll talk to you later Amelia.” I turn around and wave at her with a big smile as she walks out the bedroom door. I’ve never had any friends before but I think that is what we are, so I’m worried I’m going to mess it up but she reassured me multiple times that it was going to be ok.
Jaxson stands there awkwardly staring at me with sad eyes. He rubs the back of his neck debating something and smiles at me softly. “So did you have a good time? Did you get everything you wanted?” Still not wanting to speak to him I just nod slightly bringing back my attention to organizing the clothes. “Oh I almost forgot!” He walks over to the other door that’s closer to the window area. “This is your closet.” He opens the door wide and turns the light on.
I stand up quickly to check it out, I totally did not think about where we were going to put all this stuff but when I walk through the door my jaw drops. It’s a full walk in closet covered in white cabinetry and hanging wracks. On the end is a whole wall with shelves on each side of a full body mirror and a grey cloth bench that has the arm rests on the sides but no back.
“So will this work for all your stuff?” Is he joking this closet is bigger than any of my rooms combined and it’s just for my clothes?!? I’m absolutely shocked.
“Yes it’s huge.” I laugh a little at the thought of actually filling up this whole closet. That would be impossible.
“Good, um let me help you put everything away.” As he goes back to my piles of clothes but before I could object I see him go into another mind link. “Fuck...” he whispers underneath his breath. “Im sorry Amelia, but I have to go deal with some business. I’ll send someone up here to help you and then we all will have dinner downstairs in an hour or so.” He says to me “ Would you join me please?” He asks the last part as more of a whisper and very hopeful.
Im starting to get really hungry because all I’ve eaten today is a corn dog and smoothie from the malls cafeteria. “Sure, I guess that’s fine.” I shrug at him not giving him any hint of me being ready to forgive him but a huge smile spreads across his face anyways.
“Ok good, I’ll see you there.” He says happily while hesitating to walkout the door but finally deciding that he needed to get back to work.
I continue to put all of my things away until I’m interrupted by a fiery ball of red hair. “Hi sunshine, alpha sent me here to help you?” Nicole says excitedly. We end up putting on some music to help pass the time as we joked around as we organized and put all of my new things away.
