The Officer from RPD collected the flyer as evidence, asked some questions, and was on his way. Kameron had arrived before they left and asked if Ashley putting this on Elise’s dash at work was a violation of the restraining order? The Officer apologized but said the long term care facility is an affiliate of the clinic but not owned by the clinic. Therefore, it is not technically covered by the restraining order. Since the note was on Elise’s vehicle and Elise was not approached, it did not violate the order of protection. The note is also written as a warning and not an actual threat. All of that is IF they can even prove Ashley left the note on Elise’s truck. All in all, the visit with the Officer was very frustrating, but it wasn’t his fault. He is simply following the law.
