CHAPTER TEN
Seven scooped Kaya into his arms when she answered the door. “I missed you so much.”
She whimpered from his crushing hold. “That’s too tight.”
“I’m sorry.” He loosened his grip and kissed her neck. “You always smell so good.”
She moved away from him. “We need to talk.”
“That’s why I came.” He put his hands in the jean pockets on his butt. “You’ve been avoiding me. Kaya, I don’t get this.” He swayed, releasing nervous energy. “Are you still angry with me about the dinner party? What do I have to do to apologize?”
“First, come in so the entire neighborhood doesn’t hear our conversation.”
He walked inside, head low.
She closed the door and laid against it. “You’re right. I have been avoiding you.”
“Why?” He sat on the paisley sofa with his legs wide open. “Tell me what I
