I retired to my room after having a long talk with Lady Eliona. I still found Xyrus' behaviour nerve-wracking. He indeed held to his reputation and he was gentle enough not to force himself on me when I was acting all possessed, trying to kiss him.
That only shows that he is not interested in me and that is actually something good to know. He is obsessed with Adelina and for all I care, I don't plan to move on between them and cause disruption. All I needed to do was lie low and live as if I did not exist here.
The gentle knock on the door actually distracted me away from my thoughts and I had no choice but to check who was at the door.
I turned the doorknob only to see Gareth standing at the door.
“Good evening ma’am. The king sent for you in the dining room.” Gareth said
