Chapter 2

I'm standing in a large ballroom. The ceiling was as high as the sky, and chandeliers seem to hang from nowhere. "Where am I," I said as I looked around the large room. The only thing in the room was a large throne at the end. I did a complete circle but saw nothing else than pillars. When I turned back to the throne, I jumped back. A man was sitting on the throne. He was tall, six-foot-five, and had a very familiar-looking face. But I couldn't quite place it because of his eyes. His eyes were pure gold. "Well. Hello there, Samael," he chuckled. "Nice name by the way." "How do you know my name? Who are you? Where did you come from?" I asked stepping further away. "No boy, the better question is where did you come from," he said stepping off his throne. "You still have a couple of hours till midnight." He looked to the side. "Time for what?" I was dumbfounded. His eyes shot straight to mine, and I froze at the sight of his eye. I didn't even see him move. One minute he was on the other side of the room, the other he was right beside me. I moved to get away, and fell backward, "What did you just do?" He reached down and grabbed my arm, "Ah-ha, now I see. You are hurt bad, boy. What happened?" I searched through my mind and came up with nothing, "I-, I don't remember." He looked me in the eyes, and I once again froze in place. He touched his thumb to my forehead. After a few moments, he let out a very menacing growl and removed his thumb. "Ego faciam eis redde," he whispered. "What happened to me," I asked. "You have a cracked skull, boy." "Oh, crap. I'm going to have to so much make-up work to do." He gave me a questioning look. I shrugged, "A cracked skull is only going to get me out of school for so long. Speaking of that how long have we been here? I still have an English and Maths class left." "Boy, do you not understand the predicament you are in." "Yes, I do. If I don't get to class that means I will get bad grades, which means I'll fail school, which means I won't go to college, which means I won't have a good job, and then finally I will live in a box under a bridge." He grabbed my shoulder and shook me. Hard. Once I regained my balance, I said, "Yeah, that's smart, shake the guy with the cracked skull." "Boy, you won't have to worry about school much longer." "What does that mean?" I said scratching my head. "That's not important right now. What is important now is that I get you fixed." "What? How are you supposed to fix me?" He grabbed my head in between his hands and looked me in the eyes. I froze in place and looked right back into his eyes. "I am going to heal you by giving you a small portion of your inheritance." "My inheritance?" I was getting more confused by the second. "Yes, I will tell you more about it when it is time for you to claim the rest. Nod your head if you understand me." I nodded my head. "Good," He kissed my forehead, and I once again fell into the darkness.
