The beginnings
Thessaloniki, May 1972
Leonora had wondered what she would face when she stepped into the apartment. Frenzy and chaos was what she had imagined. Dinos trying to fix the baby’s feed and Eleni screaming at the top of her voice. She was therefore alarmed as she stood in the hallway and complete silence prevailed inside. She took her shoes off and walked on tiptoe into the living room, but there was nobody there. She had started to panic when she heard Dinos’s voice from the bedroom.
‘Leonora, is that you?’
