6 The scent of things to come Thessaloniki, June 1983 Leonora was walking swiftly towards the school keeping her head down, engrossed in her thoughts. She must not be seen by her daughter, not before it was time to pick her up anyway. How would she account for picking her up from school, something she had not done for years, out of the blue, just like that?
