He looked at Kaori for an explanation. She knew the detectives were recording the interview, so told them, “Pat told me he was one of the Navy Seals involved in the raid on Osama Bin Laden’s house in Abbottabad. He told me that he had taken the USB from Bin Laden’s’ study, but with all the turmoil going on, he had put it in his pocket and forgot that he had it. Pat told me that when he arrived home in America, he found it and became too afraid to hand it in, so he made a wooden crucifix around it to disguise it.”
The detective looked puzzled and unsure of its relevance, asked, “So what’s on it?”
“I don’t know… Pat wouldn’t tell me, only that it was something they would kill for.” Kaori sobbed and with tears running down her cheeks said, “I thought he was joking.”
