Chapter 10

Jordan’s POV I quickly ran back to my brother Jagger’s room when I heard Poppy scream. I was puzzled when I didn’t see them on his bed, but then I heard their voices coming from the bathroom. Annoyance surged through me—looked like my brother was trying to outmaneuver us again. He was the first to get close to the girl, but now he was really pushing it! We forgave him for not telling us that he had already found the woman who would bring us happiness for the rest of our lives. I was momentarily speechless when I saw them inside the shower, with water soaking Poppy. Her sexy body was on full display—perfect curves and all—which immediately turned me on. I had the same reaction when I saw her swimming in the pool while I watched from the balcony. But my brother Janus had to ruin my fun by suddenly showing up. That guy never backs down, especially now that so much has happened between him and Jagger. What’s even more annoying is that our dear brother refuses to show us the picture he took! Out of frustration, I smacked him hard on the head. I secretly smiled when he yelped in pain, clutching his head and glaring at me. I shoved him aside, grabbed Poppy’s hand, and pulled her out of the shower stall. I was getting too distracted by her appearance, so I grabbed the robe nearby and covered her with it. I even nudged my brother’s foot before leading Poppy back to her room. Who knew what else he might try, especially since he was drunk! If he pushed his luck any further, Poppy would only get angrier with him, and if that happened, we might lose our chances with her altogether. “Poppy, I’m sorry for what my brother did. He’s not thinking straight right now,” I told her gently. “It’s okay, sir. He’s just drunk,” she replied, glancing down at my hand holding hers. “I’ll take you to your room. Get changed and rest—you must be tired.” She just nodded. As we walked through the living room, we saw my two other brothers eating. They froze when they saw us. They were about to approach, but I stopped them. I took Poppy to her room, and after saying goodnight, I left. I had to leave quickly before I did something that might scare her or make her avoid me. That was the last thing I wanted! I was already struggling with the situation as it was—how much worse would it be if she started avoiding me? I understood exactly how Jagger felt, especially since Poppy had been actively avoiding him. It hurt in my chest… and lower, too. I wanted to hold her and make her feel good, but I had to endure it. I had to control myself. I was really starting to regret telling them we’d take things slow. Damn! This was torture! I returned to Jagger’s room, with Jozer following behind, curious about what was going on. We found Jagger sitting on his bed, his head down, hands clutching his face. He looked like the weight of the world was on his shoulders. I wanted to scold him for what he did, but I didn’t want to make him feel worse. He was truly heartbroken because ScarlaPoppy refused to take him back. He had told us everything they talked about that morning. It seemed like Poppy had planted it in her mind that she wasn’t worthy of him because we were rich. What more if we told her that we all wanted to be with her—for the rest of our lives? “Jagger,” I called out. He lifted his face, and I was taken aback when I saw the tears in his eyes. He let out a deep sigh before collapsing onto his bed. “She doesn’t want me anymore…” he said sadly. I walked closer to him. “Why couldn’t you just wait? We were going to help you, but you jumped the gun,” I scolded him. He covered his face and cursed under his breath. “I just wanted to hold her in my arms already! That’s why I wanted to explain everything to her—to clear things up. But suddenly, she tells me we don’t belong together because I’m rich and she’s just a farm girl. When we were together, she never thought about that. She didn’t hesitate to give herself to me. I know it’s unfair to you guys, but if you only knew how happy I was in that moment… It was even more fulfilling that I was her first, and she was genuinely happy! And now, she says this?! I don’t care if she’s from the countryside—she’s mine! She’s ours! So why is she hurting me like this?” “Karma?” Jozer interjected. I shot him a sharp look, but he just shrugged. “But at least we know what’s on her mind. That she thinks she’s not worthy of being with us.” “We need to do something about this. If she doesn't accept Jagger for that reason, she won’t accept us either.” “Where’s Janus?” Jagger asked. I also wondered where he was—I thought he had followed me earlier, like Jozer. “F*ck!” Jagger cursed loudly. He jumped to his feet, and we all hurried toward Poppy’s room. Poppy’s POV I sat on my bed for several minutes, staring blankly after Sir Jordan escorted me back. No matter what I said, I couldn’t deny that I still had feelings for Jagger. I also couldn’t deny that I was attracted to his brothers. When Sir Jordan held my hand, it was like electricity ran through my whole body. I clutched my chest, feeling my heart pounding. Taking a deep breath, I decided to take a quick shower. When I stepped out, wearing only a towel, I walked toward my wardrobe but froze when I saw Sir Janus standing by my open door. His arms were crossed over his chest, making his massive muscles even more noticeable. His eyes roamed over me, and he even licked his lips. Instead of feeling offended or scared, my body responded—heat pooling between my legs. “Sir… do you need something?” I asked hesitantly. I heard him take a deep breath before slowly walking toward me. I backed away until my back was pressed against the wall. We stared at each other, his gaze just as intense as when we were at the pool. He placed his hands on either side of me, trapping me in between. My body grew warmer, and I tried my best to stay calm so he wouldn’t notice how affected I was—even though my n*****s had hardened and my core was already wet. He looked so much like Jagger, except he had a bit of facial hair and slightly darker gray eyes. He took another deep breath, bringing his face closer. “I just wanted to check if you were okay, Poppy. Did Jagger do anything to you?” “No, Sir. He was just drunk—he probably didn’t know what he was doing,” I answered. “Drunk? Yeah, I’d probably get drunk too if you rejected me.” He gently cupped my chin, stroking it. “You tempt me so badly… and I just want to take you right here.” I gasped as he brushed his fingers down my neck. “I know you want it too. I can feel it, baby. I can smell your scent. Your n*****s are hard, your beautiful p*ssy twitching for me. The only thing that bothers me is that Jagger got to have you first. But I’ll take my time savoring you… and so will my brothers.” I was about to respond when he pressed a finger to my lips. “I really want to kiss you, taste these luscious lips. No wonder Jagger is crazy about you.” I swatted his hand away, and he raised an eyebrow. “You all know about me and Sir Jagger?” I asked, my voice trembling. “Yes, he told us everything. We’re his brothers, after all—brothers that he got ahead of.” His words made my heart race. What did he mean? All four of them? Before I could think, Jagger suddenly appeared and yanked Janus away. I wanted to stop them, but Jozer pulled me out of the room while Jordan waited outside, holding the robe I had worn earlier. “Wait, aren’t we going to stop them?” I asked as we sat in the living room. “Let them be, Poppy. They’re just being childish. They need to let out their frustrations,” Jozer said. Jordan just smiled at me. We sat there, listening to the sounds of fighting from my room. After a while, the noise stopped, and the two brothers finally came out—both sporting fresh bruises on their faces.
