I haven’t slept in a month.
Days ran into nights, and nothing changed. I woke at odd hours. I stood in my office. I went through reports. I signed things I didn’t read. The meetings blurred. The pack moved. I moved with it.
My wolf never stopped.
My temper shortened. Small things snapped me. A phone that rang too loud. A guard who missed a call. A courier five minutes late. I yelled. I threw a cup once. It shattered against the wall, and I kept walking as if nothing had happened. Men flinched when I passed. That was useful.
My mother called twice a day. Her voice was always calm and worried. She reminded me of the date set for the second ceremony. She told me to keep things quiet, to show strength, to present Rose as my Luna. She didn’t ask. She ordered.
