With every step he took toward me, the more my blood boiled. Dax's grip on my lower back had become painful, but my brain didn’t register it. My heartbeat thudded.
Ash looked at me like he’d just discovered buried treasure.
“Lena,” he said, like the name still belonged to him. “You look… incredible.”
I didn’t smile. “And you look… exactly the same.”
His smirk faltered, but he stepped closer. “Come on, babe, don’t be like that. I made a mistake and lost what we had but—”
“We had a disaster,” I cut in. “You’re still as dumb as I remember.”
He flinched, then tried to laugh it off. “I’m sorry, Lena. I’ve been trying to reach you for a while now—”
“You cheated on me with my sister and then went on to marry her,” I said flatly. “That’s not a mistake.”
