  Elena’s POV   “I knew it.”   Maribelle’s voice rang like a gavel slamming down in court. I froze mid-bite, halfway through a leftover sandwich, crumbs hanging dangerously close to my lap.   “Knew what?” I asked, trying to sound casual.
