"Don't worry. I'll try to keep you away from him," Xena assured her before attempting to lead Joey away.
However, they were stopped by Frederic's chilly voice. "Mrs. Madison, are you leaving because I arrived? Am I not welcome?"
Xena gritted her teeth secretly, turning around with a forced smile. "Mr. Adamson, your presence honors us. I apologize for any disrespect."
