After the k********g, Joey was left with a lingering shadow in her heart.
She kept the lights on all night. She had a light sleep troubled by visions of Frederic fighting against others.
It seemed in her dream that Frederic was injured.
He lay on the ground, covered in blood.
Joey woke abruptly from the nightmare, calling out Frederic's name.
It was only upon opening her eyes that she realized it had been a dream.
Just as she was about to sigh in relief, the door to her room was pushed open.
A tall figure stumbled into her view.
Frederic hurried to her bedside and touched her forehead, his voice hoarse.
"Relax, it was just a dream."
Joey snapped out of her shock, staring at Frederic in disbelief. "Why are you here?"
"I was worried you'd be scared, so I came to keep you company.
