After hanging up the phone, Frederic noticed Joey was about to leave the room.
He quickly asked, "Where are you going?"
Joey turned and smiled at him. "I'm going to check on Mrs. Perez. You can discuss business with Mr. Adamson."
Frederic watched her with a grim look, his voice tinged with grievance.
"Mrs. Adamson, your husband is in a vegetative state and needs your care. Are you sure you want to leave me alone to see another man?"
Joey chuckled. "You're talking business with Mr. Adamson. I shouldn't interrupt. But I'll be back soon."
Without waiting for Frederic to reply, she turned and left.
