21 “I’ll be damned.” Quinn slowed when he hit Main Street, joining the line of pickups, trucks and four by fours inching their way into the center of town. Flurries of snow still buffeted the windshield, but it seemed the worst of the storm was over, and the weather had chosen to cooperate for Cady and Meredith’s big day. Big drifts had been pushed away from the road, no doubt they’d needed the snow plough out early to prepare. Travelling at a snail’s pace, Quinn watched the almost carnival-like atmosphere outside the bakery. People were lined up in an orderly fashion along the sidewalk and he caught sight of Meredith and Paulette, offering samples from big trays of cupcakes. When he got parallel to the bakery, he discovered why they were serving people outside – inside the little store
