There were days it seemed like my leave of absence was a vacation. I slept over at Hanna’s last night and arrived home after breakfast at 10:00 AM with a little more bounce in my step. All my bottled-up tension had disappeared–if only for a while. My objective today was to try to connect Sabrina to Lara. Both worked for Best Biotech. It hardly seemed coincidental. I called Detective Rollins and then Detective Showers to see what they knew. I couldn’t reach Showers. Reggie was surprised to know that both women worked for the same company and emphasized that he was no longer on the case.
My news whet his appetite and he offered to go with me if I could wait a day or two. I thanked him, but couldn’t wait. I assured him I’d tell him what I found. There was a risk the company could refuse
