Nadine was in the kitchen, making breakfast when she heard a knock at the door. She frowned, wiping her hands on a towel. It was still early, and she wasn’t expecting anyone. Clara usually called before coming over, and she hadn’t ordered anything.
She hesitated for a moment before walking toward the door. When she pulled it open, her breath caught in her throat.
Adrian stood there.
“Good morning,” he said with a small smile.
