They think the dog was previously a stray when his deceased owner took him in." Jamie opened the cage door with his sets of keys. He smiled when Rex went straight to sniffing my ankles.

"What is he?" I chuckled when the dog nuzzled and bit me playfully until I sat my ass on the floor and Rex moved to sit on my lap.

"The vet thinks he's a Beaglier, a mix of beagle and cavalier spaniels. He will be docile, and need less playtime. He likes his cuddles and naptimes."

The dog sounded perfect for me and before I knew it I was signing the adoption paperwork and got Jamie to take me to the nearby pet shop for Rex's necessities.

"So, you're okay leaving the shelter now?"

"Yeah, I'm done with my shift and will be going back to Aspen's soon." Jamie gave me a sexy smile.

"So, you like working for Aspen?"

My question made Jamie laugh. It made the younger man look more youthful and handsome. Surely I should stay away from him.

"I do. I need the accommodation and I love taking care of baby Vee. It's a very nice setup. Rather than being a waitress, working odd hours and still having to go to campus in the morning."

Another laughter erupted from Jamie while he got into the passenger seat of my car. "I did. But it was exhausting...I love working with Aspen. Taking care of baby Vee doesn't feel like a job. You know?"

"Mmhmm...I would say so too. She's a very well-behaved baby. It's strange. Maybe she gets her attitude from her uncle Oakley." I shrugged casually then my car was filled with a burst of laughter from both of us.

"Okay, maybe not," I confessed as I started the car. I dropped Jamie off at Aspen's but decided not to stay since I wanted to get Rex settled in my place before he got too anxious.

"I'll call Aspen later. I think Rex needs his nap."

"You're going to be the greatest dad for Rex. Thanks for the ride." Jamie patted my arm in a friendly manner and said goodbye to Rex. "Don't forget to bring him here next time. I'm sure baby Vee would like to get to know him."

I laughed and promised Jamie that I would.

All and all it was a good and productive day. Well, minus a little setback with my ex. But I couldn't say that I was too disappointed. Not when I came hard after a very nice session of office s*x.
