Miriam’s POV
I am not really happy with the way Lazar always leaves me in a hurry to do something in private. I knew we both had things to handle on our own but I just wished he would tell me before completely disappearing.
I could barely sleep that night. My eyes were closed as I lay down on the bed but I was actually awake all through. I even heard when Lazar came up to the bedroom and climbed into bed with me in the middle of the night. At first, I had been startled, thinking it was the stalker but I recognized his scent and I relaxed.
“I’m sorry for leaving like that,” he muttered while rubbing my arm. “We’ll talk about it when you’re awake.”
