Lazar’s POV Taking Miriam home felt like breathing again after nearly drowning. The hospital smell still clung to memory making me feel sick but the warm feeling of her palm on mine made me feel relieved. I kept glancing at her in the car, scared that if I looked away for a second she might disappear and I would never see her again. Her eyes were on the window, watching the city lights blur past.
