Chapter 5 Jace awoke Monday morning with a raging hangover. Not too surprising since he’d stopped on the way home, after leaving the club, to pick up a bottle of whiskey. He drank some of it straight from the bottle as he drove the rest of the way home, not caring if a cop saw him and pulled him over. None did, and he made inside the house and to the kitchen, where he’d poured two fingers of whiskey into a glass and tossed it back. After that he’d taken the glass and the bottle into the living room, plopped down on the sofa, and done some serious drinking. It didn’t help alleviate the pain. All he could think about was how Charlie had deceived him.
