Chapter 15 - Sundown's SacrificeIt was mid morning when the sounds of gunfire could be heard coming from the homestead. At first it was a single weapon but within seconds it grew to a dull roar.
“Sundown! Sundown!” cried Shadow, who had been out practising her camel commands.
The commando leader looked up from his cup of tea with Pinkie and Sue-Ellen, the sounds of gunfire had yet to register with them. They saw Shadow hurrying her camel towards them. Her face reflected her fear of both the racing camel and the now obvious roar of gunfire. Not the most experienced camel rider she clumsily fell to the ground trying to dismount.
