Serena and I were in love for seven years.
I knew it, she was brilliant, and I truly did love her.
But then Vicky came back.
She was gentle, warm, like a flame burning bright, and she slipped into my heart without the slightest effort.
Vicky was just the same as ever, not changed one bit.
I'd had feelings for her for the longest time.
I loved her every little look and smile. Even just having her talk to me filled me with a happiness I couldn't explain.
But Serena was different. She was too clear-eyed, too self-sufficient, like a pool of still water with no bottom you could see.
The truth was, I always had my doubts. Did Serena really love me?
