“Madam, please don’t go,” a middle-aged man attired in a black suit begged along with three other house maids. They all had worried looks as they stared at the deeply scowling Kimberly- the former madam of the house.
She had informed them she had divorced their master. So it was only right that she left.
She only packed the few things that belonged to her which weren’t bought with Ryan’s money. She even changed out of the blue sequined gown she was wearing earlier. Now, all she had on was just a simple white gown that was below the knees with red floral patterns.
She was dragging along a grey suitcase, looking ahead with resolution in her green eyes.
“Do not follow me!” Kimberly warned them for the nth time.
“Madam, please don’t go,”
“Are you deaf?!” she growled, causing the particular brown-haired maid to keep silent. But that also made the latter’s expression change faster than the flipping of a book’s page. She folded her arms and wore a glower.
“Why are you yelling at me, huh? I’m trying to make you feel like not everyone despises or looks down on you here, and you have the guts to yell at me? What tosh!” the peeved maid turned around and went back into the mansion.
The other maids also left with her, a miffed look on their faces.
Only the butler still had on that concerned look. Obviously, he had pleaded with the maids to at least make her not to feel too bad when leaving. And they couldn’t keep up with his request in the end.
“Child, you’re a good girl. A dazzling pearl. I can’t believe our young master could double-cross you like that. Where is his conscience?” the older man lamented.
“It’s okay, uncle. Take care of yourself. I’m never coming back!” She then turned to leave.
As she neared the mighty gate of the villa, she saw the gatekeeper open it and a black jeep drove in, then the gatekeeper locked it once again.
She ignored whoever was in the jeep; She no longer lived here anymore and so the mansion’s matters don’t concern her.
The jeep, however, unexpectedly stopped. The vehicle’s back window was wind down and a head popped out.
“Leaving so soon, gold-digger?”
Kimberly, who was about to walk past the jeep, halted in her tracks. She turned to see a familiar older woman who had already stepped out of the jeep with a black walking stick in hand. The latter was dressed in a pricey, black sequined gown and gold accessories.
“Yes, ma’am. There’s nothing that concerns me here anymore,” Kimberly replied with a phoney smile and made to continue her journey out of the place.
“Don’t be so much in a hurry, darling. I want to have a word with you,”
“Unfortunately, I’m busy,” Kimberly tried not show a trace of anger. She couldn’t let this old hag win.
“Yeah, you need to find a good place to cry right? You thought that your marriage to Ryan would be eternal, didn’t you? You aren’t worthy of him. My grandson deserves someone better, someone from a noble family. I planted his secretary in his company, and in no time, she already made him do something I long wanted him to do. She is pregnant for my grandson and with twin sons to continue the Fosters legacy at that.”
Kimberly rolled her eyes in boredom. She was long done with this stinky old fool.
“My daughter-in-law hails from one of the richest families in West Hill city and is a complete package. Thank heavens that you didn’t get pregnant as you’re a barren tree in the first place.” The woman said smilingly.
“Thank you for your words. If you don’t mind, I have to leave,” The smile was gone from Kimberly’s face and she had donned a blank expression.
“Without my permission, you can’t go past that gate,” the older lady warned, and Kimberly turned to face her with a frown.
“What’s the meaning of this, old lady?” Kimberly questioned through gritted teeth.
“You’re indeed an orphan. No one taught you manners, that’s why you’re like this. I’m glad you’re no longer related to us.”
“Old lady, you don’t want me, right? So let me pass before you regret keeping me back,”
Ryan’s grandmother scoffed, “Oh?! The pauper dares to threaten me now? Open your eyes and see clearly, Kimberly Gomez.” The older lady wagged a warning finger at her, “No one will respect you anymore; You are nothing but a divorced and a rejected woman. If you ever try to climb another rich man’s bed, I will personally make sure you land in prison.”
“Is that all?” Kimberly asked with a raised brow.
“I’m not done with you yet,” the older lady said, an impish smile touched the corner of her mouth.
Kimberly frowned, wondering what this pesky woman was up to. A maid arrived minutes later with a bucket of dirty water.
“Pour it on her and then she can leave,” Ryan’s grandma ordered.
“Yes, madam,” the maid bowed and headed to Kimberly.
“You’re going too far!” Kimberly’s hands were fisted by her sides.
Grandma sneered, “You will leave with your true colors plain for all to see. I want everyone to see that you are a cheap, dirty tramp that every male in the world should veer away from. Hurry, pour it on her head!”
The maid quickened her steps and on reaching Kimberly’s spot, she quickly threw the dirty water on her, drenching the latter from head to toe. Kimberly’s white dress had become brown and clung to her body.
She wiped water from her face and pushed her wet hair backwards. Then, she looked at the older woman with a staunch face, but the latter looked amused.
“Now you can leave, w***e,” Grandma ridiculed.
“Old lady, I will remember this. What you and your stupid grandson did to me, I’ll keep it in mind and I’ll pay you back a million times. You all will regret this. I can already see the day you olid lot kneel before me looking worse than beggars. You will know what is poverty, shame and how it is to be vagabonds.” Kimberly swore, holding back her tears.
This only made the elderly woman laugh mockingly, “Can you see? A churchrat is threatening a dragon. How ludicrous!”
Kimberly took her bag and suitcase, then headed towards the gate. The gatekeeper was blocking the way however.
“The old madam hasn’t given me orders to let you out yet. So…”
“Get out of my way!” Kimberly growled, but the gatekeeper shook his head.
She reached out her right hand to push him, but he avoided it. He didn’t want her dirty hand to soil his white uniform, and she smelled bad too.
“Let her go. If I keep her here any longer, she’ll fill this precious place with her disgusting tears and horrible perfume.” Kimberly heard her former in-law say.
At that the gatekeeper opened the gate for Kimberly and she walked out without looking back. The old lady’s sneer could still be heard, but she ignored it and kept walking.
People in the area were looking at her and many avoided her because of her smell but she didn’t care. She stopped a taxi but the driver wanted to leave after seeing how she looked.
“I’ll pay you a thousand. Just take me there,” she offered quickly.
The man, who was in his late fifties, hesitated for a moment and then decided to let her board the vehicle in the end. He dropped her at ‘Rosa’s spa’.
There, the staff, though hesitant at first, eventually agreed to transform her after she offered enticing money.
Hours later, she was out of the spa looking totally different. People who saw her before were shocked. From a dirty, smelling woman she had come out looking hot and very desirable.
She pulled her suitcase along and walked elegantly with sunglasses on. She headed to a grand hotel that was nearby and lodged for the night.
15 minutes later,
In the hotel room, she dropped her suitcase and looked at the vanity mirror. Her ex-husband had said he liked simple women, and so, she always dressed simply and elegantly. She did everything to please him out of her love for him.
But it turned out he had taken her for a wazzock. He cheated on her with his secretary, Kylie Sebastian who was a woman from a noble family in the next city- someone his grandma personally planted in his company.
The scene of Ryan adeptly thrusting into that redhead, with the latter moaning shameless like it was no one’s business, kept hunting her.
The fact that Ryan had been making her take birth control pills for the past three years while she blamed herself for not giving her beloved a child made her feel heartbroken and very blue.
The room began to feel stuffy to her so she went out to the hotel’s bar to have a drink. One glass of champagne turned to three bottles and when she was wasted, she footed the bill and made her way to the hallway where her lodged room was located.
She refused assistance from any of the staff and kept using the walls as support till she got to Room 706. She gulped and then took out the key and inserted it into the keyhole.
It didn’t work and she tried several more times. “Even you, a mere door wants to frustrate me too? How low can you all get?” the angered Kimberly kicked the door in a rage and it immediately opened.
She scoffed and then got inside, slamming the door behind her.
Dim blue lights were on and she made her way to the bed groggily. Upon getting there, she saw that a man was lying on it and creased her brows in ire.
“You, bastard. Get out of my bed!” she ordered and then gulped, holding her head from the headache.
The male figure was making no move and this got her angrier. She pounced on him and tried to hit him but he held both hands.
“I don’t have time for games, feisty hooker. Since you’re here to quench my flame, then let’s just go straight to it. No need to beat around the bush,”
“Huh?” the muddled Kimberly didn’t comprehend what he was saying but she knew she had to resist and flee from him.
Alas, he overpowered her as easily as it was to steal a candy from a baby.
“Let me go, you monster,” she cried but the man paid deft ears and stripped her of her clothing.
“Be obedient,” he scolded before latching his lips on hers.
