WE JUST FINISHED laying down the track for the new song. I can’t believe Bret made me think we had lost all of the songs. I would have strangled him had it not been my fault in the first place. He made a good show of it and effectively made me feel even shittier than I already did. I suppose I deserved it. I’m just glad the album is still intact, and now we can finally finish it.
The back-up band we recorded the song with is excellent. I’ve used them on several of my solo albums, and they have even gone on tour with me. What I’d like to do is be able to play this live, with both Cash and Wade, although we’d have to convince Wade to do it.
Once Bret calmed down, because he really was pissed that I destroyed the tapes, I could tell he was listening with his critical ear. I trust his judgem
