ERIN The basement is dusty and smells like mold. I sit cross-legged, sifting through the boxes of my father’s things. I’ve gone through the ones with his old clothing, even lifting a shirt to my nose to see if it still smelled like him, and I was sadly disappointed when it didn’t. Some of these things can go to charity, but only when my mom is ready. I woke up early and brought my coffee down here. I’m not sure what I’m hoping to find, but I’ll know it when I do.
