Meanwhile back at the club.

I'm sitting at the bar thinking back at what happened when the bartender Alex calls out to me "Layla are you okay?" I look at him and tell him everything is fine. Alex then continues to clean the bar glasses. My wolf she is angry at me for not running to our mate, I have more control over her I cannot risk my mates life there is a greater evil after us and I do not want him involved it is better that I ignore him and don't acknowledge him as my mate, a part of me the wolf part wants to know him to know his name to be with him but I shut down those feelings. why now? why did my mate have to show up now? I ask myself these questions as I'm taking a drink of my water. I knew he was my mate before he entered the club, I smelled him before I seen him. He had the most intoxicating smell. He smelled like roses with a hint of a forest smell, he smelled perfect. My mate he is very handsome with this godly presence surrounding him, he was tall and tanned with jet black hair, and beautiful blue eyes like the sea, he was wearing all black suit with a baby blue tie and handkerchief in his breast pocket the blue from his tie made his eyes pop. I could feel his eyes on me the whole time I walked to them guys to bring their drinks and when the guy behind me slapped my ass I could feel my mates rage. I knew he was watching so I put on a smile and turned towards the asshole and dumped the pitcher of beer over his head and smacked him with my drink tray then walked back to the bar where Alex was laughing at what I did it made me smile. Behind me I could hear my mate and his friends try and hold in their laughter while the two guards throw the dude out of the club. My mate then stands there a few more minutes and leaves taking his friends with him. Im sitting at the bar drinking my water and Alex asks me if I knew who those three men were? I replied "yeah i know who thoes men are they are the three heads of the biggest mafia in Chicago, everyone knows who thoes three are."what Alex don't know is that those three are wolves so am I but that's not all I am. The rest of my shift at the club goes smoothly I only serve drinks to the men. I dont dance like most of the women here. After my shift ends I leave the club with Alex and we walk until we have to part ways he is worried about me walking alone but I tell him ill be fine. Once we go our separate ways I continue walking to my place I can feel it someone is watching me I don't know where they are but I can feel them watching me from a distance. I act as I don't notice and keep walking this person watching is not a threat it doesn't smell like a wolf smells human. I round the corner and go into my apartment building I live on the fifth floor out of six floors. When you look at my building it looks like a broken down c***k apartment. Yes this apartment dose have some c***k heads living in it but none on my floor. I walk up the stairs to my floor and unlock my door where my little sister Ella is waiting. Ella is 19 years old im 23 years old. Were both on the run from out old pack we take safety in the building because wolves won't dare come near it because of the c***k smell it messes with our senses and a wolf who can't smell is no wolf at all, so the smell pretty much hides us from other wolves.The smell dont affect me and my sister as we are not just wolves.Ella greets me when I walk threw the door with a hug and ask how my day at work has been. I tell her "Ive found my mate"and walk past her like it's not that big of deal. "What you found your mate! thats amazing!" Ella screams at me super excited for me until she sees that I'm not as happy as she is. "what wrong layla? why ain't you happy about meeting your mate finally?" I sigh and say "Ella we are on the run we can't risk anyone else life but ours. Even if i go to him what's to say he won't turn on us?"She sits down on the couch and huffs "your wrong laya he is your mate he wouldn't turn on us he could help us. who is he anyway?" I sit next to her and tell her the events of my night at work I then tell her my mate is the Rouge Mafia boss Josh Pain. Ella looks surprised at what i said she looks at me and says "What Josh Pain! like the Josh Pain!? the mafia boss Josh!? he could help us Layla, he could keep us safe and hidden."

"Ella look honey I dont want my mate involved in our mess bad people are after us and I don't wanna risk his life, when you find your mate you will feel the same way. Now its three in the morning let's get some rest." I get up kiss her head and go to bed.

The following morning I wake up and get ready for another day. I tell Ella that I'm heading out as she is sitting on the couch watching TV. I leave the building and go to my morning job at the diner down the road from the club, as im walking I feel someone watching me again this time i stop and look in the direction I feel the presence "Hey! why are you following me!" the guy acts like he didn't hear me and walks in the opposite direction I continue on my way to my job. While at a table taking their order the door chimes and I can smell him the smell of rose's it smells so good i finished taking their order and bring it to the cook I see him and his friends sit in my section it is weird I never see him hear in the mornings. Why is he here? Judy the other waitress bumps my shoulder and reminds me that I have a table to take care of breakfast are always busy for us. Walking to their table I can feel the mate bond grow stronger as i get near him the bond is so overwhelming, Im standing in front of his table now, it takes everything in me not to sit on his lap and kiss him right here and now. My mate he looks into my eyes, I swear to the moon goddess I could of melted in his hands like snow, oh and when he smiled up at me I had to turn and walk myself to the employee room I didn't know I was holding in a breath until I let it out the bond is overwhelming i dont think i could take this any longer. I stood there trying to decide whether or not to tell him that he is my mate. Looking at myself in the mirror "you can do this Layla go out there to his table and tell him that he is your mate, your strong and confident you can do this."

"Nice pep talk" my wolf star tells me

"now go get our mate!" I head back out there and he is gone. Where did he go? My morning shift at the diner goes smoothly I dont see my mate for the rest of my shift if im honest im a little disappointed about it I was hoping he would come back but why did he come here and sit down just to leave without ordering anything to eat? "maybe he wanted to just come and see us." my wolf star says to me as im heading out to the parking lot. Im standing there having a conversation with star that I don't even notice when a black mustang pulls up next to me, I only notice when I hear his voice as he rolls down the window "hey beautiful do you need a ride?"

"I don't take ride from strangers especially hot ones with blue eyes."I replied to him and he gets out of the car and is in front of me in a matter of seconds my heart starts racing with his closeness he smiles at me "well im Josh, and who might you be besides beautiful?" his words make me blush i swear my cheeks are as red as a tomato."I'm layla"I say as i look down bashfully. My wolf star is howling because she finally met her mate wolf "oh layla his wolfs name is Ace he is so sweet and he told me he been looking for us for four years and is very happy he Finally found us."Star tells me very happily.

"so layla, are you going to get in the car? I'm no longer a stranger i can give you a ride wherever you want to go."

I stare at him just taking him all in looking him up and down he noticed and chuckles, he puts his hand on my lower back opens the car door and helps me in. He such a gentleman who knew the mafia boss could be this nice? I'm so amazed as he makes his way to the driver door and sits next to me, he ask where I'm heading to. Looking at him I tell him to the club down the road. It doesn't take long to get there as its just around the corner but the fact that he came and picked me up just to give me a ride makes it all the more special. Once we're there I get out of the car and closed the door he rolls down the window, "Layla, can I see you again?" Im suprised by his sudden question and Star takes this opportunity to take control she just nods my head and replied "you know where to find me."she turns around and let's me resume control I tell her "what a sassy answer for a sassy wolf, you know we cant see him again, i don't want to put his life in more danger."

Star whines and covers her eyes with her paws "I know Layla I just really love them already."

I head inside the club and decided that I would see him again just this once to tell him that we cant see each other no more. I know our wolves would be hurt but it is for the best. Honestly im excited to see him just this once and cant wait until then.
