I'm not done with Yusuf and Suleiman is bringing his to the table. I guess both of them don't know I'm just 16 years old sick girl trying to secure a peaceful life.
But, like in this life, I'm not here to have peace and freedom of mind. From one thing to another, every day is a new chapter and episode; what a soul." Soliloquize
Another call came in, and it was Dad: "Hello, Salama, hope you are doing great. I am on my way back home, and I am coming to your place, see you soon. Take care." And ended the call.
After the call, I realised I had a lot of work to do. Clean up the whole House, cook my dad's favourite meal and for the security men.
"Damn!" I sigh
My dad's favourite meal is Pounded Yam And Egusi soup which is 'Melon seeds soup', and I want to prepare that for him before his arrival.
I went to the kitchen and started peeling the yams, and once I was done, I sliced them into a dish and rinsed them, placed them into a clean pot, added some water, covered and put them on fire.
I blended the Melon seeds and Piper Guineese with some chilli peppers, sliced the onions, scotch bonnet, spinach, and long bell pepper and set aside.
I washed the dried catfish with hot water, washed the Chicken and the Goat meat and placed them in a pot, added some water, some chopped onions seasoned with some spices and placed them on fire.
I switched to cleaning up the house, and on time, the food was ready; the house was cleaned, and I Served myself some food, and the policemen and I reserved some for my dad.
Sayidu is one of the Police officers' names. He assisted me with the pounding, and it was a perfectly smooth Pounded yam.
There was a horn at the gate, and I glided through the window and saw one of the policemen trying to open the gate to check who was horning, and there came my dad. I rushed out in haste for a hug, and he couldn't wait to take hold of me. Smiles on my face glowing; he gave me a bear hug and lifted me up in thrills... "How are you, my love?" Excitedly, "I'm fine, sir." I responded gleefully, and he laid his hand on my shoulders as I carried his luggage, and we walked back inside.
He took me to a sitting room I never knew existed in the apartment. I used to think that there was no place in the House like my living room, but a pretentious place it was when I stepped in. The lights that glitter like the stars, the marble tiles that mirror me and I can see myself so clearly on the floor, the interior spectacular with golden light in the above chandelier like a boon and blessings in the sun, the Pale curtain that looks like a dew of colours from the rainbow, the skull chairs that influences the beautiful palace with empire decorations. Off the right path of the palace is the green and red tulip sitting in a clay pot by the corner, an African map image on the wall with other painted artistic images hanging on the wall between the dining room and the palace, a centre carpet that seems like a fur, Clasp with cooling unit and everywhere puffed up in ventilation, golden fan blowing in cycling with a cool breeze like the ocean breeze hitting in the winter wind.
I slowly walked into his room, and it was pure in white like an angel Isle, and the cloudy fume with a glittery light which lured an awesome divine. I was full of everywhere and all over the place.
"I was living my life in hell, and God took me in here to witness what heaven seems like as a reward for my suffering in this whole cell," I murmured
"How have you been and how is everything going with you?" Dady asked.
"It has been fine, and now I'm feeling better and hoping to live here for a very long time in a better state," I said in my best manners
"Yeah, you can be here for a very long time, but someone needs to be here with you because I won't always be around to watch over you. You need to be under a watch and I will bring someone who's going to be here with you." He said
"But, Dad, I can take care of myself. Don't you trust me anymore?" I said
"Not that I don't trust you, but you need security and a companion because I want you to be safe out here before I am done with the course I went for... Please toss me the bag next to you I got you some gift for you." He complacently
"Okay." And I passed him the bag.
He brought out some chocolates, biscuits, confectioneries, Shoes, bags and a lot of wears and handed over them to me. I travelled in amusement, enrapture,d, and nothing good like this moment; I was so gleefully engaged; I never knew I could be so happy, and something like this moment awaited me.
I gave him a peck on the cheek and ran to my room to test the wears, and all fit me like a glove.
"How the hell did he get it so right perfectly?" I grinningly said
I put on the fittest and went to his room to thank him. You look so beautiful in these dresses, and I for more because I want you to look more beautiful always." He excitedly said
"Thank you, sir." I profusely said
I left the kitchen in excitement, microwaved the food and served him as hot. He was so happy seeing his favourite meal in front.
"Wow, it's been a while. I tasted your sweet meal, and my favourite girl prepared me my favourite meal. What a good!" As he excitedly stresses the good, "Thank you,u, dearie." He added
He asked me to join him, and I quickly washed my hands, and we both enjoyed the meal.
As we sat down to eat, my dad arrived, and we all enjoyed the delicious meal together. The aroma of the Egusi soup filled the air, and we all savored every bite.
After the meal, my dad praised my cooking skills and thanked the policemen for keeping an eye on me while he was away. He sat with us and shared stories of his journey, making us all laugh with his anecdotes.
As the evening approached, the policemen bid us farewell, thanking us for the hospitality and the delicious meal. Sayidu commended my cooking skills and expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome.
After they left, my dad and I cleaned up the dishes together, sharing a moment of bonding and closeness. I felt grateful for the love and support of my family and the newfound friendships that had entered my life.
As the night settled in, I reflected on the events of the day, from the quest for breakfast to the unexpected encounters with Yusuf and Suleiman. I realized that life had a way of surprising us with opportunities and challenges, and it was up to us to navigate through them with courage and kindness.
And so, in the quiet of the night, I closed my eyes with a sense of contentment, knowing that no matter what the future held, I had the strength, resilience, and love to face it head-on. And with a peaceful heart, I drifted off to sleep, ready to embrace the adventures that awaited me in the realm of Eldoria.
As we were done eating, I moved the dishes back to the kitchen and returned to clean up the place... "Sorry dear, I'm so exhausted right now, and I need to take my shower and have some rest; I see you tomorrow. He said. "Okay sir, you deserve it. Have a peaceful night's rest." I responded.
As I was done mopping, I checked around to see if there was any good thing to be done, but no one, so I went straight to my room, and it was a happy and peaceful midnight.
I Woke up with cheers, offered my morning prayers, and went to his room to greet him, but he was out to the Masjid to observe his prayers.
I hopped into the kitchen, trying to prepare breakfast before sunrise, and in the process, I heard a knock on the door; it was my Dad and Yusuf by the door as I opened it.
I gripped in shock seeing Yusuf with my dad... "Good morning sir." I anxiously
"Good morning dear, how are you?" He replied
"I'm fine sir," I responded with patience
Yusuf greeted me, "Hello, good morning."
I replied, "Good morning."
So they both went inside to the sitting room and lit up with chatting.
"Who's this guy? What's the connection between them?" I was so curious...
So I went to the sitting room to ask my dad about what to prepare for breakfast, and he introduced Yusuf to me as 'Omeyiza' "Salama', this is 'Omeyiza'; they live next to us. I bought this House from his father, and his father was my childhood friend and schoolmate. I will take you to their House for you to get acquainted with the rest of the family.
You can prepare anything and serve me with a cup of tea."
"Okay, sir."
I left for the kitchen, but Yusuf was all over in my mind, inducing distractions, and I heard some footsteps some feet away going out towards the gateway, saying to my Dad, "Bye, later I will come along with them to greet you, sir."
"Okay, thank you, my regards," Dad said.
My dad called the Policemen and appreciated their efforts for a good job and for looking after me until his return. He paid them some money, and both appreciated it and then took their leave back to their offices.
"We still have good policemen in this country and these are the good ones.... With these types of Policemen in society, security can be rest assured." Dad said
I was in the kitchen preparing fried potatoes and egg sauce, and my dad stood by the kitchen door. "I can't wait to taste that; the aroma is asthmatic, taking the breath away." He jokingly and I laughed. He left to the sitting room while I served the dishes.
New security men were recruited and one of them just resumed as I was serving food, and Dad went outside to welcome him and to guide him through his duties in the house. As he returned back to the sitting, he asked me to serve the security man some food, so I gave him mine.
I was exhaustively tired and couldn't cook anymore, so I took tea and bread.
As I was done eating, he asked me to clean up; he was taking me to school. I hurried up and got ready and we headed to school. Reaching school, we went straight to the principal's office, and the principal was happy to see me because he was told that I had gone missing, and the news went all over the school.
My dad explained to the principal what happened and made him understand my current situation. He sought permission for me to be at home in the meantime and get prepared for the upcoming West Africa Examination Council (WAEC).
The principal understood and accepted the request.
On our way back to the car, we met my younger siblings at the car park waiting for us because one of them saw us through the window as we were going to the principal's office, and they came out and waited for our return.
